On January 1, Hue City Department of Tourism organized a "Welcoming program for the first flight and tourists to Hue City in 2025".
At 9:15 a.m. on January 1, more than 100 passengers on flight VN6317 from Hanoi to Hue landed at Phu Bai International Airport.
In particular, the 4 luckiest passengers were given 4 domestic round-trip air tickets of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and souvenirs from the Hue City Department of Tourism.
Other passengers on the same flight were also given souvenirs, enjoyed a welcoming art performance and received New Year wishes from Hue city leaders and the Hue city tourism industry.
According to the Hue City Department of Tourism, this is an opening activity to respond to the Hue Festival 2025 associated with the orientation of the Four Seasons Festival, and at the same time kick off a series of events and tourism activities of Hue City in 2025, welcoming Hue - a centrally-governed city and the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.
In 2024, the tourism industry will welcome nearly 3.9 million visitors, an increase of 21.8% compared to 2023; of which there will be nearly 1.45 million international visitors, an increase of 16.6% compared to 2023, and nearly 2.5 million domestic visitors, an increase of 25% compared to 2023. The proportion of international tourists accounts for nearly 36% of the total number of tourists to Hue.
The tourist market mainly comes from markets such as ASEAN, Northeast Asia, Western Europe, North America, and Australia. Tourism revenue is estimated at VND 7,900 billion, up 19.6% compared to 2023.
In addition, Hue city received a series of awards and titles from a number of international tourism organizations, magazines and information channels, contributing to the communication and promotion of Hue tourism destinations and products in the region and globally, attracting traditional and potential international tourist markets.
