On June 17, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency of South Korea said that more than 1,000 doctors will face an investigation into receiving illegal money from a pharmaceutical company.
Accordingly, the doctors are suspected of receiving cash and items, worth from millions of won to tens of millions of won per individual, from Korean Drug Co.
Seoul police have launched an investigation into the drugmaker on suspicion of bribing doctors to prescribe the company's products to patients.
So far, eight pharmaceutical company officials and 14 doctors have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
