According to regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, today more than 130,000 9th grade students studying at secondary schools, vocational education - continuing education centers across the city submitted "Application form for admission to grade 10 high school for the 2024-2025 school year".
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also noted that once students have submitted their application, they cannot change their registered preferences. Therefore, students need to remember the relevant regulations and consider carefully before choosing their preferences, while maximizing their chances of being admitted to public schools.

Accordingly, each student can register up to 3 admission wishes to 3 public high schools, ranked in order NV1, NV2, NV3. Of which, NV1 and NV2 must belong to the same admission area according to regulations, NV3 can belong to any admission area.
In case a student only registers for one wish at a public high school, he/she can register for a school in any admission area.
Each candidate is only admitted and confirmed to attend one public high school. Students who are admitted to NV1 will not be considered for the remaining wishes. In case students are not admitted to NV1, they will be considered for NV2 but must have an admission score at least 1 point higher than the school's NV1 admission standard.
If students fail NV1 and NV2, they will be considered for NV3 but must have an admission score at least 2.0 points higher than the school's NV1 admission standard. When the standard score is lowered, public high schools are allowed to admit students with NV2 and NV3 who meet the admission requirements.
According to preliminary statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the number of 9th grade students in the city participating in the recognition of junior high school graduation in the 2023-2024 school year is about 135,000 students (an increase of 5,000 students compared to the previous school year).
Among junior high school graduates, the percentage of students who passed the 10th grade entrance exam at public schools this year is about 60%. The rest must choose to study at private high schools, vocational education - continuing education centers, vocational education facilities, and colleges.
The entrance exam for grade 10 public high schools for the 2024-2025 school year in Hanoi will take place on June 8 and 9.
