Workshop on the role of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam

Attending the workshop were Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Central and local leaders, scientists and researchers from academies and universities; historical witnesses and veteran revolutionaries.

The conference received more than 40 presentations from historical witnesses and scientists. The scientific presentations focused on four issues: Affirming the inevitability of the birth and the great contributions of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam to the cause of resistance against the US to save the country.

Clarifying the marks of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam in Quang Tri province.

Clarifying the contributions of the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Tri to the activities of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition and the value of the Relic Site of the Headquarters of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, building a civilized and prosperous Quang Tri.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, said that the workshop is an important activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam in Cam Lo, Quang Tri and towards the 50th anniversary of the historic visit of Cuban leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone of South Vietnam. This is also the first time that a separate workshop on the role of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam in the resistance war against the US to save the country has been organized at the ministerial level.

Through the Workshop, the aim is to clarify the position, role and great contributions of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam to the cause of resistance against the US, saving the country, affirm the historical value of the Relic Site, contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism and revolution, the indomitable will of the nation to generations of Vietnamese people, especially the young generation; at the same time, provide theoretical and practical bases to refute the wrong and distorted views of hostile forces; arouse and promote endogenous strength to build the country and Quang Tri province to become increasingly rich, civilized and happy.
