National scientific conference on trends in breeding and animal feed

On the morning of October 21, in Vinh city, Nghe An University of Economics in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry organized a national scientific conference on trends in breeding and animal feed.

Comrades: Dr. Pham Cong Thieu - Director of the Institute of Animal Husbandry; Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Huu Doan - Senior Lecturer of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture; Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nghe An University of Economics co-chaired the workshop. Comrade Tran Xuan Hoc - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Dang Van Minh - Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of the province attended the workshop.

Over the years, the livestock industry has contributed a lot to the economic and social development of the country, including outstanding contributions to increasing productivity, quality, products, and meeting safety standards. However, for circular livestock farming, in the direction of organic, in the digital transformation period, the livestock industry is still facing many difficulties and major challenges.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu - Principal of Nghe An University of Economics stated: The workshop is a forum for scientists, managers, businesses, and farm owners to discuss and propose solutions and directions for effective livestock breeding development, in order to meet the development goals of the livestock industry in the coming time, opening up new directions in livestock farming in our country.

At the workshop, delegates were introduced and discussed a number of current issues of concern such as: Environmental status in livestock farming and solutions; Trends in breeding and feeding dairy and beef cattle in the direction of organic circulation to ensure animal welfare and food hygiene and safety.

Representatives of the units also introduced some achievements in breeding and nutrition of industrial chickens and current development trends; discussed the issue of reducing methane (CH4) emissions from the rumen; Issues on the use of supplementary feed in livestock farming; Sources of raw materials to create pig lines for organic farming...
