Workshop on connecting supply and demand for information technology products and services to serve digital economic development in the Northern region

Attending the event were comrade Le Nam Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Technology and Communications Industry; 150 delegates representing a number of units under the Ministry of Information and Communications ; representatives of departments, branches and localities of Hoa Binh province; a number of Departments of Information and Communications, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities in the Northern region; a number of digital technology enterprises, travel agencies, accommodation establishments and tourism businesses.

At the workshop, delegates shared the current situation and demand for digital technology products and solutions in local tourism development; Make in Vietnam digital technology products and solutions promote smart tourism development. Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Le Nam Trung, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Technology and Communications Industry ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) emphasized: Vietnam's tourism industry is developing rapidly and dynamically, closely linked with the region and the world in a professional and modern direction, with favorable conditions to support digital transformation and digital connection. The concept of smart digital tourism brings many opportunities to the tourism industry in almost all stages of the process of providing services to tourists. According to statistics from the Vietnam E-commerce Association, the rate of domestic tourists booking hotels online and booking tours online is over 60%; the rate of international tourists using these two services is over 75%. Another survey of international tourists to Vietnam shows that up to 71% of tourists refer to destination information on the Internet; 64% book and buy services online during their trip to Vietnam. Hoa Binh province is located at the gateway to the Northwest region of Vietnam. With its existing potential, investing in digital technology not only helps the province maximize its tourism value but also contributes to sustainable development and improves the quality of life of its people. Tourism development will contribute to and create momentum for the socio-economic development of Hoa Binh. Digital technology products and solutions in the tourism sector are one of the key factors contributing to improving the efficiency of Hoa Binh tourism.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Bui Duc Nam, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Hoa Binh Province, said that in recent years, the province has become a destination and tourist destination for many domestic and foreign organizations and individuals. The province has applied technology platforms to develop tourism through tourism promotion activities and modern communication and advertising. Since 2019, Hoa Binh has built the Hoa Binh Province Smart Tourism System. Applying AR virtual reality technology with many outstanding features; 3D photo sets and 360 videos (VR 360) of tourist attractions and service facilities. In addition, Hoa Binh Province also piloted the Smart Urban Monitoring and Operation Center, serving the management and operation of local socio-economic development, including many features to support tourism development through technology. In the coming time, the Department will actively advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments, branches, and authorities at all levels to accompany and support businesses to promote digital transformation, improve competitiveness, open up new business models, new economic values, thereby successfully implementing political goals and tasks on digital transformation, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province in the coming time.

Comrade Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, discussed the need to create digital applications to promote smart tourism in Hoa Binh province.

Comrade Le Chi Huyen, Vice Chairman of Tan Lac District People's Committee, Hoa Binh Province, discussed the implementation of digital applications to meet tourism needs in the district.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing the need to create digital applications to promote smart tourism in Hoa Binh province; the implementation of digital applications to meet tourism needs in Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province; MobiFone Smart Travel smart tourism platform; connecting technology to promote and develop Vietnam tourism; digital transformation solutions for heritage preservation on the digital twin platform; tourkit - a comprehensive digital solution for Vietnamese travel and tourism businesses; ezCloud tourism management and business platform; digital transformation solutions for smart tourism for localities; digital solution ecosystem to promote the development of smart tourism destinations.

Also at the workshop, a memorandum of understanding was signed to support digital transformation of tourism in Hoa Binh province between Vietnamese digital technology enterprises and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province./.
