Conference to guide the election of the People's Inspection Committee for the 2025-2027 term

On December 30, in Ha Long City, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to guide the election of the People's Inspection Committee (PPC) in communes, wards and towns for the 2025-2027 term and to guide the activities of the PPC and the Community Investment Supervision Committee in the province. The conference was held in both direct and online formats to localities throughout the province. Attending the conference were comrade Nguyen Van Hoi, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province.

The election of the People's Inspection Committee in communes, wards and towns for the 2025-2027 term is a direct democratic activity, selecting and electing exemplary people with qualities, capacity and prestige, representing the community to inspect the implementation of decisions discussed and decided by the people; supervise the implementation of policies, laws, and the implementation of laws on democracy at the grassroots level by local authorities at the commune level, cadres, civil servants at the commune level and non-professional activists at the commune, village and residential group levels; at the same time, recommend competent authorities to handle according to the provisions of law when detecting signs of law violations, supervise the implementation of such recommendations and consider and verify specific cases according to the recommendations of citizens and communities in the area.

The selection and introduction of personnel must ensure democracy, publicity, transparency, focusing on standards and quality in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Democracy at the Grassroots Level; Decree No. 59/2023/ND-CP dated August 14, 2023 of the Government and Circular No. 40/TTr-MTTW-BTT dated March 26, 2024 of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. During the preparation and election of the People's Council, it is necessary to regularly do a good job of information and propaganda work to ensure that the election of the People's Council takes place democratically, equally and in accordance with the law.

According to the plan, the election of the People's Council in communes, wards and towns for the 2025-2027 term will be completed in January 2025.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province affirmed: After the election of village, hamlet and neighborhood chiefs for the 2025-2027 term, the next important activity is to elect the People's Inspection Committee in communes, wards and towns for the 2025-2027 term. In fact, the People's Inspection Committee plays a very important role in the activities of the grassroots government. Through the activities of the People's Inspection Committee, it has promptly monitored the implementation of legal regulations in the locality; monitored the implementation of people's complaints and reflections; monitored the implementation of democratic regulations... From there, join hands to build a strong government at the grassroots level and ensure the legitimate rights of the people. However, some places are still having problems in discovering, introducing, and selecting personnel to be elected to the People's Council, leading to the activities of the Council not meeting the people's expectations, making the voice of the People's Council in government building not clearly expressed. Therefore, to meet the highest expectations of the people, the People's Council for the 2025-2027 term must be truly capable and experienced in discovering and making recommendations to the authorities at all levels on issues that voters and people in the area want.

At the conference, the delegates listened to the leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Bar Association convey the following topics: Deployment and guidance on electing members of the People's Inspection Committee according to legal regulations and guidance of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; guidance on the activities of the People's Inspection Committee and the Community Investment Supervision Committee.

The conference helped delegates grasp the necessary information and knowledge to ensure that the election of the People's Inspection Committee in communes, wards and towns for the 2025-2027 term takes place democratically, equally and in accordance with the law; at the same time, it helps equip them with the necessary skills for the activities of the People's Inspection Committee and the Community Investment Supervision Committee.
