Trade promotion fair linking tourism and promoting local culture in Quoc Oai district

On the evening of January 26, the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion coordinated with the People's Committee of Quoc Oai District to organize the opening ceremony of the "Trade promotion fair connecting tourism and promoting local culture" on the internal road of DG02 area, Quoc Oai town, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi. This is a connecting event that sets the stage for future events.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bui Duy Quang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (HPA) said: The fair is a good opportunity for businesses to introduce their potential strengths and typical products of localities, a trade bridge for production and business units with consumers, to stimulate domestic consumption in the city and contribute to promoting local tourism and culture.

“ With the efforts of the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion, the enthusiastic coordination of the People's Committee of Quoc Oai district and the response of provinces, cities and businesses, we believe that the Fair will be a great success ,” Mr. Bui Duy Quang emphasized.

According to the organizers, with a scale of more than 100 booths, the Fair attracted nearly 90 businesses from 15 provinces, cities and traditional craft villages in Quoc Oai district to participate in displaying and introducing specialty products, processed agricultural products, consumer goods, household appliances... as well as promoting the image of local culture and history.

The Deputy Director of HPA added that when mentioning Quoc Oai, the first thing that many people remember is the legend of Zen master Tu Dao Hanh associated with the special national relic cluster of Thay Pagoda, a typical heritage of the Doai region, a sacred land with talented people. The Hanoi People's Committee awarded the decision to recognize "Special national relic tourist destination of Thay Pagoda and the rocky mountain area of Sai Son, Phuong Cach, Hoang Xa" on April 21, 2023.

Currently, the district has more than 220 historical, cultural and architectural relics, including 2 special national relics. In addition, there are many types of intangible cultural heritage, typically the Do Hat Festival at Khanh Xuan Temple, Liep Tuyet Commune; Ham Rong Vi Singing, Tuyet Nghia Commune; Tuong art in Duong Coc Village, Dong Quang Commune; Cheo and ceremonial music in Tinh Lam Village, Dai Thanh Commune; Water Puppetry in Sai Son Commune... Along with a variety of traditional craft villages, relics and scenic spots... Many quality tourism products have been and are being built.

Only about 20km from the center of Hanoi, Quoc Oai has both "heavenly time and favorable terrain" factors to develop tourism. The district can exploit cultural and historical tours associated with spirituality and beliefs; develop eco-tourism with handicraft products - craft villages; eco-tourism associated with agricultural products (OCOP) ...

Besides famous historical relics, Quoc Oai district has 17 villages recognized by Hanoi People's Committee as craft villages and traditional craft villages such as: Bamboo wicker weaving village in Tuyet Nghia commune, So village's vermicelli, Tan Phu carpentry village... This is also a strength in developing craft village tourism associated with the local culture of the district.

The program is practical in promoting cooperation activities, investment promotion, trade, tourism, agriculture between Hanoi and other localities across the country. Through that, the program aims to promote and introduce enterprises, cooperatives, production establishments in Hanoi and other localities across the country to promote and introduce products, promote exchanges and cooperation; exchange and learn experiences, seek and expand markets, distribution systems, and product consumption; connect and seek business cooperation opportunities, thereby attracting investors to do business, invest and develop the local economy, contributing to building Hanoi city, as well as Quoc Oai district to become a highlight in key trade and tourism development.
