Dear comrades, colleagues and ladies and gentlemen;
Implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the 2024 work plan, the Vietnam Journalists Association presided over and coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to organize the 2024 National Press Festival with the theme "Vietnam Press - Pioneer, Innovation for the Revolutionary Cause of the Party and People". This is a great festival for the press and public nationwide, an activity to celebrate the achievements of innovation and development of the country and Ho Chi Minh City; at the same time, it celebrates the 99th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024), the 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2024); is a practical activity to celebrate the 49th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024); 48 years since Saigon - Gia Dinh City was officially honored to be named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - July 2, 2024); thereby continuing to implement the Program of activities for the entire term of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association, term XI (term 2020 - 2025).
The 2024 National Press Festival has a new organization method, with many rich and attractive activities, attracting 120 booths displaying outstanding press publications, typical of hundreds of central and local press agencies, all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 63 provinces and cities across the country, including 01 exhibition area on the history of Vietnamese press; 112 booths displaying outstanding press of newspapers and magazines from popular to specialized, including aspects of the country's political and social life; 08 special booths of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, Military Press Bloc, Public Security Press Bloc, Government Electronic Information Portal, National Assembly Office.
What is special is that, parallel to the system of exhibition booths showing an overview of contemporary Vietnamese journalism in the direction of professionalism - humanity - modernity is the thematic exhibition booth "Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism 1925-2024: 99 PROFESSIONAL STORIES". This will be the historical story of 99 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, with stories of dedication and sacrifice, labor and creativity of generations of journalists - soldiers.
According to comrade Le Quoc Minh, the 2024 National Press Festival has a new organization method, with many rich and attractive activities.
Dear comrades, colleagues and ladies and gentlemen;
During 3 days (from March 15 to 17, 2024), the 2024 National Press Festival will bring to the public, journalists and members many high-quality, large-scale, in-depth and highly practical professional activities; exhibitions, displays, and unique and rich cultural and artistic programs.
The first National Press Forum was held with 10 discussion sessions on important and urgent topics of Vietnam's revolutionary press in the digital transformation period, such as: Enhancing Party spirit and orientation in press activities; Building a cultural press environment; Data journalism and outstanding content strategy; Competitiveness of television in the AI era; Dynamic broadcasting in the digital environment; Diversifying revenue sources of press agencies, Issues of press copyright protection in the digital age..., with the participation of more than 60 speakers who are experienced domestic journalists and prestigious international media experts; will have a strong influence and multi-dimensional impact on press agencies, journalists, and members nationwide.

The interaction to create solidarity and promote cooperation for mutual development between journalists - the public - businesses is an initiative that clearly demonstrates the pioneering and innovative spirit for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the People of the Vietnamese press in the 2024 Press Festival. The National Press Festival is also an opportunity for the press to meet to better understand the information needs and tastes of readers and audiences in order to have press products that closely follow real life, thereby informing the Party's policies and the State's policies, reflecting the reality of all aspects of life, listening, analyzing, inspiring, and guiding public opinion, thereby contributing to the cause of economic, cultural, social, security and defense development of the country. The participation of 64 OCOP product booths, a press forum discussion session with the theme of Effective cooperation models between the press, businesses and advertising agencies; The Football Tournament of the Journalist & Public Opinion Newspaper Cup, the program “Vietnamese Youth – Hung Cuong Aspiration” and special cultural and artistic activities of units and partners from localities… will contribute to increasing the connection between the press, the public and businesses, creating an open cultural space for exchange, promotion and cooperation activities for mutual development.

Within the framework of the Press Festival, the Organizing Committee will vote and award the Outstanding Display Booth Award; Impressive Tet Newspaper Cover Award; Impressive Tet Radio Program Award; Impressive Tet Television Program Award; Impressive Tet Electronic Interface Award; Press Award for excellent reportage on the 2024 National Press Festival.
The National Press Festival is an occasion to honor the great achievements and strong development, the spirit of innovation, strong will to rise, the spirit of dedication and high responsibility of the Vietnamese press, to educate the tradition, to encourage the pride in the 99-year tradition of revolutionary journalism and to arouse the desire for creativity, innovation and dedication of the team of journalists - members; at the same time, to commend and encourage the great contributions of units, individuals, organizations and enterprises that have made many positive contributions to the cause of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam.
With that meaning, on behalf of the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee, I would like to declare the opening of the 2024 National Press Festival.
On behalf of the press nationwide, I would like to wish good health to the leaders, former leaders of the Party and State, leaders of the Central Committees, Ministries, branches, and organizations, Ho Chi Minh City, journalists, and the press community who attended the Opening Ceremony and the activities of the Press Festival.
