The Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) plans to enroll 2,200 students, 70% of whom will be considered based on academic records combined with international certificates, applicable to candidates who have won provincial-level prizes or higher or are studying at specialized schools.
On March 15, the Diplomatic Academy said that the remaining quota will be reserved for graduation exam scores (25%), interview admission (2%), direct admission, and priority admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (3%).
Compared to last year, the school reduced more than 100 quotas, mainly in the fields of International Relations, English Language, and International Law. In particular, the field of International Commercial Law increased by 65 quotas.

With the admission method based on high school academic results, candidates need to have an average score of 8 or higher in three out of five semesters.
At the same time, students must belong to one of the following groups: Won an encouragement prize in a national excellent student competition or a national science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training; won a third prize in a provincial excellent student competition or higher; be a student at a specialized school or a high-quality national key school; have one of the following international certificates: English (IELTS 6.0 or higher), Chinese HSK4 (from 260 points), Korean from Topik 3, Japanese from N3 or a standardized SAT test from 1200/1600, ACT from 23/36 points.
The interview selection method is for candidates who graduated from foreign high school programs or studied abroad and graduated in Vietnam. With this method, the required English, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean certificate scores are higher. For example, students need to achieve IELTS from 7, Chinese from HSK 5 (score from 180), Korean from Topik 4... or SAT standardized test scores from 1300 and ACT from 29 points or higher.
Regarding the graduation exam score review method , the school will announce details later, but will not use the results of foreign language exemptions, and will not add priority points to candidates with international certificates.

In 2023, the Diplomatic Academy will directly admit 63 candidates according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (who won national and international prizes); 1,650 candidates will be admitted by considering their academic records in combination with international certificates.
In addition, 525 students were admitted with graduation exam scores, the standard score ranged from 25.27 to 28.46, the highest being the International Communication major in group C00 (Literature, History, Geography).
