TPO - The International Young Informatics Talent Competition - Hanoi City for the 2024 - 2025 school year is completely free for high school students from grades 3 to 12 across the capital.

The International Young Informatics Talent Competition - Hanoi City, school year 2024-2025, is organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training in coordination with IIG Vietnam Education Organization.

The contest is not only an interesting science and technology playground for students but also a journey to connect knowledge and encourage the movement of learning information technology according to international assessment standards of students in the capital, meeting the requirements of high-quality human resources for the country.

Students excitedly participate in the International Young Informatics Talent Competition - Hanoi City

The International Young IT Talent Competition - Hanoi City for the 2024-2025 school year uses international exams to evaluate, rank and award prizes to candidates from primary, secondary and high schools in the capital. Candidates will experience online exams on computers with internet connection on IT knowledge and skills according to US assessment standards including: IC3 Spark (for primary schools), IC3 (for secondary schools) and MOS for high schools.

The competition is divided into 3 rounds. Qualifying round (school-level selection round takes place from January to March 2025); preliminary round (district/town/city-level selection round, expected to be held on March 23, 2025) and final round (city-level selection round, expected to be held on April 13, 2025).

International Young Informatics Talent Contest - Hanoi attracts many students to participate

At each round, the Organizing Committee will consider and award certificates to candidates with high achievements. In particular, excellent students who win prizes at the city level will receive certificates of merit from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, along with medals and prizes from the Organizing Committee.

In addition, high school students who win first, second, and third prizes will be directly selected to join the Hanoi team to participate in the national qualifying round of the 2025 World Office Informatics Championship.

The total value of city-level prizes is up to 250 million VND.

It is known that previously, in the 2023-2024 season, the competition recorded the enthusiastic response and participation of nearly 30,000 students from more than 550 high schools in 28 districts, towns and cities across the city. The competition results showed that more than 80% of the contestants in the City Round achieved over 700/1000 points - the required score of the international IT assessment standards IC3 Spark, IC3 and MOS. Of which, 2 high school contestants from Hanoi won the first prize in the National Finals of the World Office IT Championship - Viettel 2024 and reached the Top 4, Top 5 contestants with the best achievements in the World Finals held in Anaheim, California, USA.

With outstanding results in the past year, the Organizing Committee continues to implement the competition in the 2024-2025 school year on a city-wide scale. Thereby, contributing to promoting the movement of teaching and learning information technology according to new international trends, catching up with advanced educational standards in the world and creating a solid foundation for students in the capital to become global digital citizens.
