Specialized schools and schools with specialized classes under the Department of Education and Training will hold entrance exams later, on June 12. Below is the detailed exam schedule of the schools.
Four specialized high schools affiliated with universities, including the Social Sciences and Humanities High School, the Foreign Language High School, the Natural Sciences High School, and the Hanoi National University of Education High School, all held 10th grade entrance exams with close schedules, lasting from June 1 to 5.
At the National University of Education High School for the Gifted, this year, the English major has the highest competition ratio, up to 1/29.3. The Literature major is second and equally high with a competition ratio of 1/28.5. The Biology major, although having the lowest competition ratio, is still 1/10.2. The school plans to announce the results on its website before July 31.
Meanwhile, at the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, the IT major has the highest competition ratio of 1/9.9. The next is the Math major with a competition ratio of 1/7. The exam results will be announced before June 24.
The High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities has the highest competition ratio for grade 10 Literature majors at 1/14.7. The average competition ratio for grade 10 at this school is 1/11.6. The results of the admission to specialized classes will be announced by the school before July 1.
The Russian language class at the Foreign Language Specialized High School only recruited 15 students, but received 319 applications, so it had the highest competition rate to get into the school - 1/21.3. The English class received the most applications, more than 2,000 applications, with a competition rate of 1/9.7. The school will announce the exam results before June 30.
In addition to the entrance exam schedule for specialized high schools affiliated with universities, if candidates wish to take the entrance exam for four specialized schools, schools with specialized classes under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training including: Hanoi - Amsterdam Specialized School, Nguyen Hue Specialized School, Chu Van An and Son Tay, candidates must take an additional exam on June 12.
This year, the city has 11,283 students registered for specialized high schools and schools with specialized classes. The total quota for specialized programs of these schools is 1,750.
The English specialized class of Chu Van An High School has the highest competition ratio among specialized classes at 4 specialized schools in Hanoi with 1/30.97. Coming in second is the English specialized class of Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted with a ratio of 1/21.14.
Many specialized classes also have high competition rates, such as the specialized Literature class (1/13.29), specialized IT class (1/11.09) of Chu Van An High School; specialized English class (1/10.31), specialized IT class (1/9.03) of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; specialized Literature class (1/13.46), specialized IT class (1/10.17) of Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted.
