The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has recorded the content of the tests, mainly in the 5th grade curriculum, in multiple-choice or essay format with a test time of no more than 60 minutes per subject.
In the 2024-2025 school year, it is expected that 160,000 students will enter grade 6. The number of secondary schools will increase by 27,000 compared to last year. This increase is less than half of the Department's calculation in January.
Secondary schools recognized by the City People's Committee as high-quality schools will enroll 6th graders without following the route. If the number of registered students exceeds the quota, schools will apply the admission method or admission combined with testing and capacity assessment.
For private schools, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training allows enrollment to begin immediately after the end of the 2023-2024 school year, specifically from June 1 to July 12.
Schools that recruit students using the admission method combined with capacity assessment tests choose a reasonable recruitment time, ensuring completion by June 29 at the latest.
