The contractor has completed compensation for the road at the bridgehead on the Long Xuyen city bypass (An Giang).

The Long Xuyen city bypass has three construction packages: 4A, 4B and 4C. The project has 18 bridges. After being put into use, relevant units conducted surveys and proposed compensation for 25/36 bridgehead road locations.

Accordingly, the contractor started to implement the compensation for the road at the bridgehead on the Long Xuyen city bypass from September 10. By September 20, the contractor implementing packages 4B and 4C completed the compensation, reaching 80% of the assigned work volume.

The remaining 20% belongs to package 4A, with five locations requiring compensation. Specifically, Kenh Xang Bridge and Cai Dung Bridge, compensation needs to be done at pier A1. The remaining bridges include: Ranh Bridge, Muong Thom Be and Muong Thom, compensation needs to be done at pier A2.

"Up to now, the contractor of package 4A has completed the compensation for subsidence according to regulations, creating convenience for people to travel and transport goods when traveling on this route," Mr. Vuong added.

Long Xuyen city bypass needs to have traffic lights installed soon to ensure safety for people traveling.

According to Mr. Vuong, on the Long Xuyen city bypass route, relevant units have also installed traffic lights at the starting point of the route, that is, from Vam Cong bridge to National Highway (QL) 91.

At the intersection with Provincial Road 943 and the end of the route, i.e. the intersection with National Highway 91, the relevant units have also installed traffic lights. However, currently, only the traffic lights with Provincial Road 943 are illuminated.

"The remaining two locations are still stuck in the power connection stage, so they cannot be lit. Regarding this issue, the consulting and supervision unit has also sent a document requesting the contractor to supply electricity so that these traffic lights can be lit, to ensure safety for people when traveling," said Mr. Vuong.

The investment project to build the route connecting National Highway 91 and the Long Xuyen city bypass passing through An Giang and Can Tho is 15.3km long and the upgraded and renovated section of National Highway 80 is about 2km long. Of which, 800m is in Can Tho city and 16.5km is in An Giang.
The project has a scale of building a level 3 plain road, two lanes for motor vehicles, a road surface width of 11m and a design speed of 80km/h. There are 18 bridges on the route, along with a drainage and lighting system. The starting point of the project connects to the approach road to Vam Cong bridge, the end point connects to National Highway 91 in Binh Duc ward and Long Xuyen city.
The project has a total investment of VND 2,107 billion, using loans from the Asian Development Bank, inaugurated and put into use on June 16, 2024.
