Miss Thanh Thuy crowned Miss International was once criticized for having 'dark skin and short brain'

Miss International 2024 Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy is Miss Vietnam 2022, 22 years old, 1.76m tall and possesses a sweet, pure beauty.

On the evening of November 12, Vietnamese representative Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy was crowned Miss International 2024 in the final night held in Tokyo, Japan.

Thanh Thuy crowned Miss International 2024:

Thanh Thuy is 22 years old this year, from Da Nang, 1.76m tall and has impressive measurements of 80-63-94cm. The beauty is studying at 2 schools: University of Foreign Languages ​​(Da Nang University) and Greenwich University Vietnam. She is able to communicate in English and Korean.

During the final night, Thanh Thuy was asked: "What is the most important global development that has affected the education system of your generation?". She answered: "For me, it is the emergence of a global education system during the Covid-19 pandemic. Because of Covid-19, we have to stay at home and study online. So that is an opportunity for Edtech development. I hope students will have more opportunities to explore and learn through Edtech. This is linked to Sustainable Development Goal 4 - Quality Education". Edtech (short for Educational Technology) is the use of technology to improve and enhance the effectiveness of the education and training process.

Throughout her participation in Miss International 2024, Thanh Thuy always had stable performance and excelled in each competition.

In the semi-final night of November 10, the Vietnamese representative shone thanks to her beautiful appearance, impressive and professional performance skills. In the interview, Thanh Thuy shared that she is studying English and Korean. At the same time, she wants to learn Japanese in the future because she loves Japanese culture. Previously, the Miss International 2024 contestants were divided into many groups and traveled to different cities in Japan to participate in activities and experience local traditional culture. When she was arranged to go to Niigata city, Thanh Thuy unfortunately left her phone at the hotel in Tokyo, making fans worried because she could not update the situation. However, with her friendly and dynamic personality, she quickly asked the representatives of other countries to take photos and videos for her.

During an activity at the competition, Thanh Thuy had the opportunity to interact with local children. She expressed her emotions when watching the performances and receiving handmade cards from the children.

On the day of the national costume competition, Thanh Thuy wore the design "Lua nang sen" by designer Bui Cong Thien Bao. The costume is a combination of a silk ao dai and a traditional weaving loom. To suit the performance, the designer simplified some details and reduced the weight to about 5kg, helping Thanh Thuy move easily on stage. Despite the elaborate design, Thanh Thuy still confidently showed off her graceful and skillful movements.

Sharing with VietNamNet before the final round, she said: "When I entered the Miss International contest, I overcame my previous self-consciousness and shyness. Now, I am more mature in my thinking, more courageous and ready to face challenges to conquer my dreams."

On October 28, Thanh Thuy departed for Japan to attend the contest. In addition to the presence of family and friends, including runner-up Phuong Anh, Ngoc Thao, Hanh Nguyen, Minh Thu, Minh Kien and Miss Que Anh who had just returned from Thailand, many fans were present early at the airport.

At the announcement ceremony of Vietnam's representative to participate in Miss International 2024, Thanh Thuy said that when she was selected to compete internationally, she received many congratulations and expectations from audiences at home and abroad. As the first Miss Vietnam to participate in Miss International, Thanh Thuy brings her bravery, patriotism, and desire to promote the image of the Vietnamese people and spirit to the international arena.

In December 2022, Thanh Thuy surpassed 35 contestants to be crowned Miss Vietnam 2022. Her victory received support from fans thanks to her good performance throughout the contest, beautiful appearance and good education.

Miss International 2024 recounted the time when she was in school, she was criticized and shunned because she was tall, thin, dark-skinned, hunchbacked, and was mocked as “long legs, short brain”. At first, she felt self-conscious, but when she realized her advantages were her height and facial features, Thanh Thuy learned to groom herself to become the best version of herself. To overcome criticism, she thought positively, turned negative words into motivation and always believed in herself.

Thanh Thuy is an extrovert and loves to interact with different cultures. For her, studying languages ​​is a good choice to develop her career and contribute to the tourism industry in Da Nang.

Thanh Thuy received a university entrance scholarship, participated in a student exchange at Ubon Ratchathani University (Thailand), won the title of Miss Foreign Language University, 1st Runner-up of Talented and Elegant Students of Da Nang.

After being crowned Miss Vietnam 2022, Thanh Thuy became a familiar face on fashion runways as a vedette and first face.

Thanh Thuy also frankly admitted to having undergone cosmetic surgery: “This is the first time I have confirmed this. Surely everyone is very surprised. I also hesitated whether to answer everyone or not and my admission is not a bad thing.”
