Recently, Miss Mai Phuong received mixed reactions from the beauty community after sharing a clip recording the Head to Head challenge within the framework of the Miss World 2024 contest in India. It is known that in this competition, the representative of Vietnam and the contestants will send a short clip to the Miss World Organizing Committee with the goal of presenting a reality and issue revolving around current life. Accordingly, the Top 20 best girls will be selected to advance directly to the Head to Head challenge final round taking place on February 23.

Miss Mai Phuong competes in Miss World 2024 and attracts attention with her opening performance.

With this challenge, Miss Mai Phuong performed it right in her hotel room when she arrived in Egypt to participate in the Miss World 2024 contest. Compared to the challenge clips of other representatives which were edited and invested in carefully, the clip of the Vietnamese representative was not highly appreciated by many fans. In fact, many people were disappointed because Miss Mai Phuong's clip was considered "lack of investment" even though the beauty from Dong Nai had about 10 months to prepare to participate in the "race" of Miss World 2024.

Recently, the Miss World Vietnam Organizing Committee and the management representative of Miss Mai Phuong officially spoke out about the fact that the Vietnamese representative had to film the Head to Head Challenge clip herself upon arriving in India. Specifically, the Miss World Vietnam Organizing Committee said that Miss Mai Phuong and some other representatives such as Colombia, Australia, and England received information about this competition later than the beauties from other countries. Therefore, as soon as they received information from the Miss World Organizing Committee, Miss Mai Phuong and the team in Vietnam coordinated to film the Head to Head Challenge clip in India. Miss Mai Phuong's management said that this was the quick response of the beauty from Dong Nai to the unexpected situation that arose.

"Before going to Miss World, we carefully prepared the Road to Miss World series and the Beauty with a purpose video. More than anyone, we are the ones who are very worried whenever any problem occurs during Mai Phuong's competition. Regarding Mai Phuong having to film, edit, and cut the clip herself, we want to keep the color and personal elements. Mai Phuong is currently independently managing the information on her Instagram," shared Miss Mai Phuong's management representative.

Miss Mai Phuong's management representative also added that there will be changes to the Head to Head Challenge in the Miss World 2024 contest. Accordingly, instead of dividing into groups to speak directly to the MC, the contestants will prepare a 1-minute video themselves. The new regulation was announced by the Miss World Organizing Committee on February 7, many days before Miss Mai Phuong arrived in India (February 16).

“In addition to the activities in the contest, we will continue to actively post Mai Phuong's previous information so that her image can be spread to the Miss World organization more widely,” emphasized the representative of Miss Mai Phuong's management.

Previously, Miss Mai Phuong left for India to compete in the 71st Miss World pageant on the afternoon of February 16. Sharing with Dan Viet , the beauty from Dong Nai revealed that she brought 140kg of luggage for the nearly one-month journey to compete. Miss Mai Phuong's roommate at the Miss World 2024 pageant is a Singaporean beauty.
