On the morning of October 11, in Hanoi, the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information (Ministry of Information and Communications) coordinated with relevant agencies to launch a communication campaign to raise awareness of Internet users in Vietnam called the Tin Campaign .
With the message "News online, news correctly", the campaign's goal is to provide basic information and skills so that Internet users can recognize, detect, and avoid fake news and toxic information online, while also being aware of their responsibilities in posting, providing, and sharing information online.
Accordingly, the name Tin means both news and daily information produced on the Internet, and belief and trust.
The Tin Hop campaign hopes to create a healthy playground, encouraging Internet users in Vietnam to be creative, produce positive content, bring value to the community; honor those working in the media and content creators and create a meeting space for those involved in the process of publishing information on cyberspace to share experiences, responsibilities and professional ethics.
Sharing at the event, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Deputy Minister of Information and Communications said that he welcomed the Tin Campaign initiative, with the theme Anti Fake News , with the goal of building a positive cyberspace for more than 80 million Vietnamese people who use the Internet every day.
"Many people now see cyberspace as their second life, creating content that influences the community. At the same time, cross-border social networking platforms are increasingly developing in Vietnam, allowing users to post free content and exploit advertising.
This also contributes to the increase in fake news and false information. The situation of fake news has many new developments and we cannot just sit and wait but must have faith in those who have positive influence on social networks," said Mr. Lam.
According to Mr. Lam, on the management side, every day they face and handle many issues in cyberspace to protect and help people have a safe and healthy digital ecosystem.
"We realize that this should not be done alone and there is no reason for state agencies to do it alone but must mobilize progressive resources and positive energies from content creators," said Deputy Minister Lam.
The Tin Campaign will be implemented from October to November 2023, including the main activities: Anti Fake News content creation contest and Tinternet Program - Enhancing cyber culture in Vietnam.
Accordingly, Miss Luong Thuy Linh will be invited to be the ambassador of the campaign. The representative of the Organizing Committee said that they chose to cooperate with Luong Thuy Linh because she has a great influence on young people and has made many positive contributions to society both during and after her term. Miss World Vietnam 2019 has carried out many community campaigns such as Building roads, building dreams , Bringing electricity to the village ...
The Anti Fake News competition prize will be awarded at the News Should Be Believed conference in November in Hanoi. Miss Luong Thuy Linh is one of the speakers of this program.
