Ta Rut commune is considered the cultural “cradle” of the Pa Ko people in Dakrong district. The locality is very interested in implementing activities that contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural quintessence of the nation. Thanks to that, the traditional cultural, artistic, physical education and sports movements in the commune have developed well. However, because it is a commune in a particularly difficult area, the conditions for investing in equipment for these activities are still very limited.
In early 2024, implementing Project 6, the Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center handed over basic cultural equipment to 7 villages and hamlets in Ta Rut commune, including: each village and hamlet 1 set of portable speakers, microphones... with a total cost of 210 million VND. Vice Chairman of Ta Rut Commune People's Committee Ho A Duan said: "Previously, cultural institutions at village cultural houses in the commune were very lacking, if there were any, they were old, damaged and unusable, making it very difficult to organize any local events.
Recently, 100% of the villages in the commune have been provided with new loudspeakers and microphones by the 6-page Project, making it easier for people to organize festivals, cultural, artistic, and traditional sports activities. In particular, thanks to this loudspeaker system, much new information about the Party and State's policies and guidelines has been conveyed to the people in a more timely manner.
People often gather at the cultural house to meet, exchange, teach each other how to sing folk songs, use traditional musical instruments... contributing to improving the spiritual and cultural life in the villages, creating conditions for the locality to build a unique cultural image associated with tourism development.
Due to the influence of many factors of current development, the issue of preserving and promoting the culture of ethnic minority and mountainous areas is facing many difficulties, some good cultural features of ethnic minorities are at risk of being lost... Therefore, the contents of Project 6 are considered a solution to help overcome the above difficulties, creating motivation for ethnic minority areas to preserve and promote traditional culture.
After a period of implementation, the project has initially achieved many remarkable results. In carrying out the assigned tasks, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has developed a plan, actively directed and guided localities and units to survey needs and develop a plan to implement the project. In 2023 alone, the department will take the lead in implementing many activities such as: leading a delegation to participate in the Central Ethnic Culture Festival in Binh Dinh province in 2023 with the participation of 30 artisans and ethnic minority mass actors.
As a result, Quang Tri province won 1 A prize, 4 B prizes and 1 C prize. Organized 4 professional training courses for 120 trainees in communes of ethnic minorities including: A Bung (Dakrong district), Vinh Ha (Vinh Linh district), Linh Truong (Gio Linh district) and Hamlet 6, Khe Sanh town (Huong Hoa district). Built a documentary film about the traditional culture of ethnic minorities with the content: "The rice journey of the Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic groups"; supported the construction of 25 community bookcases for communes in ethnic minority areas.
In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also conducts inventory and surveys of ethnic minority cultural values; deploys support for propaganda and widely promotes typical traditional cultures of ethnic minorities, tourism promotion programs and builds 2 propaganda billboards to promote mountainous tourism and ethnic minorities in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts, builds and broadcasts a section on community and mountainous tourism.
Localities with ethnic minorities in Dakrong, Huong Hoa, Vinh Linh, Gio Linh and Cam Lo are also very active in implementing projects according to plan such as: supporting ethnic minority artisans in transmitting, popularizing and teaching traditional culture in the community; building folk culture clubs; supporting the activities of art troupes in villages, organizing training courses on teaching intangible culture.
Support the dissemination and promotion of typical traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities; research and survey tourism potential, select and develop typical tourism products for ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Organize the preservation of traditional festivals, support equipment for cultural houses, build traditional cultural houses, community learning houses...
In order to make the implementation of Project 6 in the province more and more effective, in the coming time, relevant departments, branches, units and localities need to continue to promote the dissemination of the purpose and significance of the project, raise awareness and join hands of the whole community in preserving, maintaining and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minority areas.
Regularly survey, grasp the situation, opinions, thoughts, and aspirations of ethnic minorities and those responsible for preserving and conserving traditional cultural values to develop appropriate implementation plans. Strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of project activities. Arouse the potential and advantages to develop tourism in ethnic minority areas with typical products, contributing to changing livelihoods, creating jobs, and increasing income for ethnic communities.
