Admission application form: capacity assessment test scores decrease sharply, standard scores do not decrease

Many public universities in Ho Chi Minh City have announced admission scores based on the competency assessment test scores organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University.

In most schools, the number of candidates applying for admission in this method has decreased sharply, however, the benchmark scores for each major have not decreased much but remain quite high, especially for "hot" majors.

The average admission score for all majors of the University of Economics and Law, Ho Chi Minh City National University, based on the ability assessment test score, is 849 points. Of which, the average admission score for majors in the field of Economics is 835 points, Business is 872 points, and Law is 815 points. The major with the highest standard score is International Business with 894 points. The candidate with the highest score admitted to the school is 1,091 points, for the Economics major; this is also the candidate with the highest score in the first round of the ability assessment test of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

According to the school, the number of applications for admission based on the school's ability assessment test scores has decreased sharply. Specifically, this year the school received 12,164 applications with 25,982 wishes, while last year there were more than 29,000 applications with more than 55,800 wishes. Although the standard score for this method has decreased slightly, the candidates admitted to the school are all in the Top 30% of candidates with the highest scores in the ability assessment test of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

At the University of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, the highest standard score for Artificial Intelligence is 970 points and the lowest standard score is 810 points for Computer Engineering - specializing in microchip design.

At the International University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, the Logistics and Supply Chain Management major had the highest standard score of 870 points. The majors with high standard scores were Computer Science, Data Science and Information Technology with 850 points, English Language with 835 points and Business Administration with 810 points.

This year, the admission scores for the training programs at the main campus in Ho Chi Minh City of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City are still very high, even increasing compared to last year. Specifically, the admission scores for the majors range from 800 - 985 points; of which, 14 majors have scores above 900 points, the major with the highest admission score is Logistics and Supply Chain Management with 985 points, E-commerce with 940 points, Data Science with 935 points...

Analysis of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test scores shows that the average score of the first round of exams was 639.2 points, and the second round was 650.4 (on a scale of 1,200). Of the more than 130,000 candidates who took the exam in both rounds, nearly 60,000 scored above 600 points.

This year, more than 90 educational institutions have registered to use the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam for admission. Although the total number of candidates taking the exam this year has increased compared to last year, in many schools, the number of candidates using the results of this exam for admission has decreased sharply; the number of candidates registering for admission on the common online system of Ho Chi Minh City National University (66 participating schools) accounts for only about 1/3 of the total number of candidates taking the exam this year.
