Marcus Rashford has been left out of the Man Utd squad for 11 consecutive matches under coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese coach recently affirmed his tough attitude towards the star wearing the number 10 shirt of the "Red Devils".
"The reason is always training. I see the players training and living every day. If nothing changes, I don't change anything," Man Utd's head coach answered a question about Marcus Rashford's situation after the win over Fulham on the morning of January 27.
Ruben Amorim said that even when there is a shortage of players, he will not use players who do not meet the requirements. The Portuguese coach would rather use 63-year-old assistant Jorge Vital in the list of players to make up the number of players than break the above principle.
"I would bring Vital in and not use a player who doesn't give his all. I won't change that," coach Ruben Amorim declared. " Every player is like that. If they give their best, do the right things, we can use all of them."
Marcus Rashford has been in poor form in the last two seasons. The English striker has been left out of coach Amorim's plans since he took charge at Man Utd. The Portuguese coach has preferred Rasmus Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee as the centre-forward, with Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho in the surrounding positions.
There have been many rumors about Rashford leaving Old Trafford in the winter transfer window. Some big clubs are interested in this striker but the high salary (over 300 thousand pounds/week) is a barrier that prevents Rashford from reaching an agreement with any other team.
