(Dan Tri) - On the evening of June 1, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center (Hanoi), the Vietnam team had its first training session under coach Kim Sang Sik.
Before the training session of the Vietnamese team, there were special guests who were loyal fans of Vietnamese football present to cheer on the team and give flowers to the new coach Kim Sang Sik.

All members of the coaching staff and players formed a circle, coach Kim Sang Sik gave instructions for the first training session as head coach of the Vietnam national team. In this training session, Coach Kim Sang Sik called up a total of 27 players to prepare for two matches against the Philippines and Iraq in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Key players such as Quang Hai, Tien Linh, and Van Toan are still the priority choices for the Korean coach's squad. Dang Van Lam and Nguyen Filip actively practiced in the first training session. To enter the next round, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team must win all matches and wait for Indonesia to only get a maximum of 1 point in the remaining 2 matches. Fitness coach Cedric Roger continues to be trusted, directly instructing the players in performing physical exercises. Dinh Thanh Binh is the name that coach Kim Sang Sik has just called up to replace injured striker Van Tung of Hanoi FC. The focus of the first training session of the Vietnamese team was on new coach Kim Sang Sik. He wore a blue shirt and a hat with the Vietnamese flag printed on it, moving around the field with his colleagues.
The Korean coach directly participated in "ghost football" with the players and confidently showed off his techniques. Commenting on coach Kim Sang Sik, midfielder Do Hung Dung shared before the training session: "After a long time of poor results for the team, we hope the new coach will bring a new wind to help the team achieve better results." "Coach Kim has a lot of experience in tournaments in Korea, leading clubs competing in the K-League or AFC Champions League, hopefully that experience will help the players develop," Hung Dung continued. At 7:00 p.m. on June 6, the Vietnamese team will host the Philippines at My Dinh Stadium.
