A decision on Guardiola's future at City will have to be made before the outcome of a hearing into 115 allegations of breaching Premier League financial rules. The 53-year-old Spaniard is entering what could be his final season at the Etihad, with his contract extension in 2022 set to expire next year. It is no secret that City will still offer him a new contract.
Coach Guardiola is likely to be Coach Gai
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak remains optimistic about convincing Guardiola to stay, just as he did two years ago. However, with the club facing a heavy fine, the four-time Premier League champions are hoping the Spaniard will commit to the club once again.
According to Sky Sports , Guardiola must make a decision before Christmas this year. This will give the Man City board enough time to find a successor, like Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool last season.
However, Guardiola will have to make his decision without knowing the outcome of City's case against the Premier League, which is not expected to conclude this year. 115 allegations of breaches of the league's financial rules will be discussed at a hearing scheduled for September, 18 months after the allegations were made.

The hearing could last around 10 weeks before the independent commission considers all the evidence. A final decision may not be made until the end of the 2024-25 season. Man City have consistently denied any wrongdoing and are confident they will be vindicated through the process.
Guardiola has pledged to support the club even if they are found to be in the wrong. Earlier this year, Guardiola admitted that he felt he had nothing left to achieve after winning the 2023 Champions League, deciding to stay because of his previous commitments. "The reality is that I am closer to leaving than staying," he admitted in May.
Meanwhile, speculation surrounding Guardiola taking over as England manager continues to mount. The FA have spent some time searching for a replacement for Gareth Southgate, appointing Lee Carsley as interim manager. Guardiola has previously expressed an interest in managing a national team before the end of his career.
"I would like to coach a national team in the World Cup or the EURO. I want that. I don't know who would want me! To work for a national team, they have to want you, like a club. I would love to experience a World Cup, EURO or Copa America... I would love that, but I'm not sure when it will happen, maybe in 5, 10, 15 years," Guardiola told ESPN Brazil .
