TPO - After more than 20 months of construction, the Song Ve bridge, the largest bridge on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway connecting Hanh Phuoc and Hanh Thinh communes (Nghia Hanh district, Quang Ngai province) has reached about 90% of its volume.

Song Ve Bridge is 610m long, with 15 main spans across the Ve River connecting Hanh Phuoc and Hanh Thinh communes (Nghia Hanh district, Quang Ngai province) with an investment capital of about 177 billion VND.

This is the largest bridge project on the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway (part of the North-South Expressway Construction Project, Eastern phase 2021-2025).

On May 31, the last girder span of the total 15 spans of Song Ve Bridge was lifted up and officially closed.

After more than 20 months of construction, the Song Ve bridge project has reached about 90% of its volume.

The contractor has poured concrete for 13 spans of the bridge deck and is focusing on completing the remaining two spans at the southern end in Hanh Thinh commune.

It is known that the Song Ve bridge project is of great significance to the overall progress of the entire Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway project.

The project site is in the final stage so the workers always work with a serious and urgent spirit.

In addition to focusing on the bridge deck, the contractor is also speeding up the construction of the bridge railing.

The formwork is ready at the construction site by the contractor to speed up the concrete pouring of the bridge railing wall.

Worker Cao Van Phong said that the bridge project has great significance on the route and in the future will "carry" a lot of traffic, so the construction must ensure quality.

Currently, the Ve River Bridge has completed the lower part and successfully crossed the flood in the 2024 flood season.

A representative of the Deo Ca contractor said that to speed up the progress , the unit has deployed 4 construction teams with over 100 personnel and modern mechanical equipment. In addition, the focus is on dismantling the service road to restore the flow to ensure smooth drainage.

In parallel with the main part of the bridge, the contractor also simultaneously deployed the construction of abutments on both ends of the bridge, and filled the ground to temporarily clear the route for traffic during the rainy season.

"The unit is striving to complete all tasks of the Song Ve bridge project by the end of the year, opening the entire route," said a contractor representative.

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway Project (part of the North-South Expressway Construction Project, Eastern Phase 2021-2025) is the largest project among the 12 component projects of the North-South Expressway Project.

The project is 88km long, with a total investment of more than VND20,400 billion. Of which, the section passing through Quang Ngai province is 60.3km long, and the section passing through Binh Dinh province is 27.7km long. In phase 1, the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway has a scale of 4 lanes, speed of 80km/h. The project is invested by Project Management Board 2 (Ministry of Transport). According to the plan, the entire project must be completed in the third quarter of 2026.
