(Dan Tri) - Attending the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, Indonesia, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered important speeches emphasizing the role of ASEAN and met with leaders of many countries.
At 10:30 a.m. on September 4, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation landed at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia, to attend the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits, at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has a busy schedule in Indonesia from September 4 to 7, within the framework of attending the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
Speaking at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAB BIS) 2023 on the afternoon of September 4, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that as a pole in a multipolar world, ASEAN needs to affirm its central role in cooperation.
To further promote the role of enterprises in promoting growth and creating new breakthroughs for ASEAN, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that the Government and enterprises need to cooperate increasingly closely, effectively, substantially and specifically.
Meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that the two governments jointly promote businesses to increase investment, especially in new areas such as digital economy, green economy, energy conversion, and development of electric vehicle ecosystems.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva, during their meeting in Jakarta, agreed to jointly seek new drivers for growth, including green growth, circular economy, and sharing economy; mobilize resources to expand production and business, promote innovation and startups, etc.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
The three Prime Ministers had a working breakfast and discussed many important issues. The leaders agreed to coordinate and exploit the competitive advantages of the potential of heritage, culture and cuisine to further promote tourism cooperation between the three countries, first of all promoting "one journey, three destinations" tourism packages.

Speaking at the plenary session of the 43rd ASEAN Summit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that in order to maintain "ASEAN's stature" and be the "center of growth", ASEAN's self-reliance must be enhanced through promoting economic connectivity, expanding the intra-bloc market, and facilitating trade and investment flows.

Talking with leaders of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and some typical Indonesian businesses, the head of the Vietnamese Government shared that Vietnam is lacking in the supply of social housing and housing for low-income people.
He hopes that Indonesian businesses investing in Vietnam will promote social responsibility, increase investment in housing development for middle-income and low-income people, and work together in the spirit of "leaving no one behind".
At a bilateral meeting with East Timorese Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh shared East Timor’s concerns about the risk of food shortages. He affirmed that Vietnam is ready to support and promote rice trade cooperation with this country.
The issue of food security, especially the shortage of rice supply, was also mentioned by the Vietnamese Government leader when meeting with the Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam is ready to support countries in ensuring stable supply and contributing to enhancing food security on a global scale.

It is expected that the summits will adopt and record about 50 documents.
