The stamp set with the theme of “national martial arts” is expressed in a unique painting language and a tight color scheme, creating vivid pictures of the traditional martial arts of the two countries. With creativity, artists from each country designed their own stamp designs and exchanged them to combine them into a set of 2 stamp designs.

The stamp of the Indian martial art “Kalaripayattu” is the oldest heritage preserved for the past 3,000 years and has become the most precious intangible cultural heritage of the Indian people. Kalaripayattu is not limited to the framework of martial arts fighting. This ancient martial art also combines the quintessence of India such as Yoga, meditation and basic self-defense techniques.

The stamp of Vietnam's martial art "Vovinam" was issued based on the traditional Vietnamese wrestling, combined with the quintessence of foreign martial arts, based on the principle of the development of soft and hard. Today, Vovinam is the largest and most developed with many students present in nearly 70 countries and territories around the world.

Through many ups and downs, today, Vovinam has gradually become one of the typical cultural features, strongly popularized nationwide and is being introduced internationally, contributing to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam. The stamp uses a blue background to create harmony with the color of the martial arts uniform and the flexibility of the martial arts posture.

The stamp set was designed by artist Brahma Prakash (India) and artist Pham Trung Ha (Vietnam), with face values of 4,000 VND and 15,000 VND, stamp size 43 x 32 (mm), and is available on the postal network from October 16, 2023 to June 30, 2025.

The issuance of joint stamps between the two countries is a meaningful activity, marking the development of the friendly relationship between the two countries, the result of strengthening cooperation, people-to-people exchange activities, preserving and fostering friendship, contributing to promoting the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to new heights, meeting the interests of the people of the two countries.
