On October 14, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry held the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year, welcoming more than 10,000 new students. Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Principal of the school, said that the school's mission is to train students who not only have high professional qualifications, but also have "heart - mind - talent". Therefore, the school is always concerned about creating a learning environment with many policies to encourage and support students, helping them feel secure throughout their studies. Since 2023, the school has established a Student Support Fund according to new criteria. This fund is divided into many different types of scholarships such as scholarships for students with good academic performance, scholarships for new students, and scholarships for students who overcome difficulties and are studious.

"I hope that this fund will promptly encourage students with good academic performance or those facing unexpected difficulties. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school plans to continue to spend about 70 billion VND to award scholarships to students and is absolutely committed to not letting any candidate who passes the entrance exam not be able to continue studying due to poverty," he affirmed. At the ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry also awarded 9 new students with the best entrance results, each with 10 million VND. Of which, Truong Thi Thu Thuy, valedictorian of the economic law major and valedictorian of the whole school, was awarded a special prize of a motorbike worth 50 million VND. In order to help students have a means of transportation and reduce difficulties, Dr. Phan Hong Hai also awarded a motorbike, which was his prize from the Ornamental Plants Exhibition Contest, to Ho Thanh Son, a new student majoring in mechanical engineering.

In addition, the school also awarded 25 scholarships to outstanding students with excellent achievements in the 2023-2024 school year, with a reward of 2 million VND/scholarship. The total value of the scholarship award at the opening ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year is 190 million. According to school statistics, in the last school year, the rate of students having jobs after graduation reached 91%. Of which, the rate of students having jobs that are right and related to their majors reached more than 79%.
