“The behind-the-scenes appeals from the great powers, the Arab countries, the UN envoy, directly and indirectly asking us not to intervene will have no effect,” he told supporters in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

“Hezbollah knows its mission very well. We are prepared and ready, completely ready,” Qassem added.
The group has clashed with Israel on the Lebanese border several times in the past week.
Hezbollah's cross-border rocket and artillery fire into Israel followed Hamas attacks on Israeli towns.
But sources say Hezbollah has so far been conducting its operations on a limited scale, preventing an escalation between Israel and Lebanon.
“The question is what Hezbollah will do and what contribution it will make,” Qasem said. “When the time comes to take any action, we will take it.”
Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has yet to comment on the developments. He met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on the morning of October 13 to discuss the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
