Da Nang – an important strategic “stronghold” of HEINEKEN Vietnam
At the Forum, Mr. Wietse Mutters, CEO of HEINEKEN Vietnam, expressed his impression of Da Nang's outstanding economic achievements. As a key economic center in the Central region, and continuously voted as "The most livable city in Vietnam" - Da Nang in the future is oriented to develop into an international financial center.
Da Nang therefore not only plays an important role in the Vietnamese economy, but also continues to be an important base for HEINEKEN Vietnam. This city is home to the company’s most modern brewery in the Central region of Vietnam, and is also considered the city of Larue beer – a brand with a strong local identity.
With the warm, hospitable, and always optimistic spirit typical of Da Nang, Larue not only sticks with the people in everyday moments but also accompanies the city in many important cultural and tourism events, contributing to promoting the development of the economy and society here.
In 2024, Larue continued to strongly affirm the brand's commitment with a series of meaningful events such as the Da Nang Enjoy Festival, the Larue Love Da Nang music night, or the Larue Lumifest New Year's Eve party that gathered thousands of participants in the vibrant atmosphere of music and light. In addition, Larue continued to uphold the tradition of supporting local people in difficult circumstances before the Lunar New Year through the program "Larue and the community celebrate a happy New Year", providing practical support in terms of material, spirit and health so that people can look forward to the new year with much hope. This brand also officially signed a memorandum of understanding with Da Nang city last year to promote and develop local tourism.
On the basis of sustainable cooperation, HEINEKEN Vietnam General Director affirmed his commitment to continue accompanying Da Nang in the new era ahead of the 50th anniversary of the City's Liberation Day (1975-2025), and towards the goals of shared prosperity.
Practical action "For a better Vietnam"
With a large market size, young population structure and growing middle class, Mr. Wietse Mutters said that although the beer industry has faced some challenges in recent years, Vietnam is still and will continue to be a potential market for HEINEKEN.
Over the past 33 years of operation, HEINEKEN Vietnam has always been one of the enterprises that significantly contributed to the economic development of the country. In 2023 alone, the company contributed the equivalent of 0.5% of GDP to the local economy and continued to be among the top taxpayers in Vietnam.
Not only contributing economically, HEINEKEN Vietnam always puts the community and people as one of the top priorities in its sustainable development strategy. Typically, before the Lunar New Year 2025, the company continued to uphold the tradition of accompanying people in difficult circumstances during the Tet holiday and implemented the program "HEINEKEN Vietnam and the community celebrate a happy Tet" in coordination with the Vietnam Red Cross Society and local authorities. With the participation of hundreds of HEINEKEN Vietnam employees, the program brought Tet necessities and many meaningful activities to more than 7,000 households in 28 provinces and cities across the country, with a total support value of nearly 9 billion VND.
In 2024, HEINEKEN Vietnam has also actively and promptly implemented relief programs for people affected by Typhoon Yagi in the North and saline intrusion in Tien Giang to help people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives after natural disasters. In addition, within the framework of the water conservation cooperation program with WWF-Vietnam, HEINEKEN Vietnam is actively implementing many initiatives to help improve water quality and access to clean water for local communities in the Red River, Dong Nai River and Tien River basins.
