As Thanh Nien reported, famous American billionaire Bill Gates has just begun his personal journey to Vietnam after nearly two decades.
The trip came after he attended a lavish pre-wedding party for Asia's richest man - the son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani. Along with his girlfriend Paula Kalupa, Gates was among the global elite gathered at the grand event.
After the celebration, he will travel to Vietnam, a country he last visited in 2006, to conduct business activities related to the information technology sector. According to the schedule, the American billionaire will spend about 5 days in Da Nang and Hoi An, staying at a luxurious 5-star resort in Son Tra district.
A source said the famous billionaire secretly arrived in Vietnam on a Gulfstream G650ER private jet - one of the world's fastest and longest-range commercial aircraft.
This (ultra) long-haul aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, with a range of 7,500 nautical miles (13,890 km) and a speed of Mach 0.925, close to supersonic speed (Mach 1). This range and speed helped Gulfstream and Qatar Airways, the company that operates the G650ER, break the world record for the fastest “round-the-world” flight in 2019, flying from pole to pole in less than 47 hours, along with 120 other records.
Launched in 2014, the Gulfstream G650ER is one of the fastest and largest commercial aircraft in the world, with a price tag starting at $65 million.
The cabin, which can carry up to 18 passengers and sleep up to seven, is designed to have the quietest atmosphere in commercial aviation.
Gulfstream's G650ER is one of the world's best-selling business jets with a waiting list that spans years. The G650ER features a luxurious, high-end interior with four living spaces that can be customized to the buyer's liking.
Along the fuselage are 16 giant windows that are Gulfstream's signature, the largest in the industry and offer passengers breathtaking panoramic views, complete with curtains so passengers can rest.
