Provincial People's Council: Supervising thematic policy on tourism development in Ninh Hai district

On May 23, the Provincial People's Council's supervision delegation led by comrade Tran Minh Luc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a thematic supervision session on "Results of implementation of policies and laws on tourism development in the period of 2021-2023" in Ninh Hai district. Joining the delegation were comrade Lam Dong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Society Committee.

In the period of 2021-2023, the tourism sector has received investment attention from Ninh Hai district and has developed strongly. The whole district has 5 travel agencies (2/5 international travel services); 77 accommodation establishments/1,354 rooms. Many new tourism products, such as: agricultural and rural tourism; adventure sports, spiritual culture, community... attract and meet the increasingly diverse needs of domestic and foreign tourists. The total number of visitors during the period reached nearly 5 million; total social income is estimated at nearly 2,700 billion VND. However, advertising and promotion activities have not been regular, the dissemination of legal policies is not extensive; the quality of tourism human resources is currently lacking and limited in terms of expertise, training and development is not timely; management work has changed but there is no close coordination between functional sectors, the business community and local people.

Comrade Tran Minh Luc, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, spoke at the thematic supervision session on "Results of implementing policies and laws on tourism development in Ninh Hai district, period 2021-2023".

Concluding the supervision session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council highly appreciated the results achieved by Ninh Hai district in the past time. Emphasizing the advantages of the locality's available natural potential, he requested Ninh Hai district to continue to propagate and thoroughly implement Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated August 31, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on developing Ninh Thuan tourism into a key economic sector in the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2030; Specifically, Resolution No. 11-NQ/HU dated July 18, 2022 of the District Party Committee on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, period 2022-2025, vision to 2030. In particular, focusing on developing plans to implement Ninh Hai tourism development activities to attract tourists, restore stronger growth in the number of visitors to the district during weekends, summer, holidays, New Year, peak tourism seasons; strengthen inspection and supervision of tourism activities, inland waterway vehicles, environmental sanitation, food safety, security and order; prevent and promptly handle violations that affect the safety and property of tourists; focus on coordinating with specialized agencies to regularly organize training and fostering tourism human resources to meet skills and expertise, especially the direct labor force contributing to improving tourism products in a sustainable direction.
