Female athlete Ha Thi Vui is happy with the bronze medal, the first medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 19th ASIAD.
On the first official competition day of ASIAD 19, September 24, female athlete Ha Thi Vui and her three teammates Dinh Thi Hao, Du Thi Bong, and Pham Thi Hue entered the final of the women's 4-row single rowing boat with the aspiration of bringing home a medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation.
Although there was a bit of regret at not being able to maintain the lead over the Japanese athletes, the Vietnamese rowing girls could still be satisfied with the valuable bronze medal, helping the Vietnamese sports delegation to start the first day of competition smoothly.
For Ha Thi Vui personally, it was a double joy because the day she received the Asian Games medal also coincided with her 24th birthday.
The moment Ha Thi Vui and her teammates received medals
"I feel very emotional, honored and proud to participate in the ASIAD for the first time and bring home the first medal for the Fatherland. Today is my birthday, so this gift doubles the joy and meaning.
I feel very happy and have many emotions because I tried my best," Ha Thi Vui shared with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter.
A little shy, the girl from Thai Binh revealed that she dedicated the precious bronze medal to her future husband.

Ha Thi Vui said: "Mr. Ha is on the same rowing team as me. We plan to get married at the end of this year. I am very happy to be able to give him my first medal at the ASIAD. Tomorrow, my teammates and I will try to win another gold medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation."
