On the evening of December 19, the Ministry of Information and Communications solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the Exhibition and Announcement of the Awards of the first "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" Photo and Video Contest, 2023.
Former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung and delegates attended and presented the awards.
Encourage the application of digital technology in creating photos and videos about the country and people of Vietnam.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that this is the first time the Ministry of Information and Communications has organized an online contest on the Vietnam Image Promotion Platform - Vietnam.vn, with the aim of encouraging people across the country, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends to apply digital technology to create photos and videos about the country and people of Vietnam.
Since launching the contest in June 2023, after 4 months, the contest has attracted the participation of more than 7,000 photo and video works. From there, the Organizing Committee has selected 28 works for awards and 70 photo works, 14 video works for exhibition.
On the Vietnam.vn platform, over 90 million people have viewed these 7,000 works, of which over 40% are from abroad. Some works have been viewed by over half a million people. These are huge numbers, surprising even the organizers.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung commented: “ Each work is a unique perspective, a unique moment, an interesting story, a beauty, a reflection that life, that Heaven and Earth bestow upon humans, if not recorded at that exact moment, at that exact place, it will be lost. And if it is not recorded, it will be a loss.”
The Minister affirmed: “ The greatest strength is always the strength of the People. The greatest creativity is always the creativity of the People. The most powerful vitality is always the vitality of the People. 7,000 photos and videos of Vietnamese people across the country are vivid proof of the strength, creativity and vitality of the People ” .
According to the Minister, digital technology and digital platforms have created conditions for every citizen, no matter where they are, with a smartphone and 4G/5G coverage, to be creative and contribute their voice to create a Vietnam of the people.
Happy Vietnam : A festival of Vietnamese people speaking up about a happy life

28 awards are 28 interesting, happy stories
According to the Organizing Committee, after 4 months of launching from June to October 2023, the contest has attracted more than 7,000 photos and videos from domestic and international authors. From there, the Organizing Committee has selected nearly 28 typical and best works to award prizes and 70 photos and 14 videos to be displayed at the exhibition.
Each work is an interesting story, a beautiful memory, full of happiness or maybe a practical perspective on a life with many difficulties and hardships but always full of smiles, joy and happiness.
Specifically, the First Prize in the Photo category belongs to author Bui Cuong Quyet, Vietnam News Agency with the work "Flying up to Vietnam".
First prize in the video category went to author Nguyen Thanh Paven with the work "Da Nang - City of Biodiversity".
Sharing about the photo that won first prize, author Bui Cuong Quyet expressed his joy and surprise because the results were kept secret until the last minute. The author said that this work of his was done at the 31st Sea Games when Vietnam was the host country and he was assigned to take photos of the Taekwondo competition. He was lucky to capture the moment of joy of athlete Chau Tuyet Van and her teammates who won the Gold Medal for Vietnam in the first match and wanted to convey information to readers about Vietnam's position.
Through the beautiful footage of Da Nang, author Nguyen Thanh Panven expressed his joy at being able to devote himself to creations. The award-winning work is a welcome and recognition for his creative efforts.
According to author Nguyen Thanh Paven, as a person passionate about nature, he wants his work to contribute to spreading the beauty of people, culture, nature and biodiversity in Vietnam. The work hopes to spread to the community and young people to contribute to green, clean, beautiful and sustainable development.
Second prize in the photo category went to author Catalin Chitu with the work “Skyscraper Shrouded in Clouds”.
Second prize in the video category went to author Vuong Manh Cuong with the work "Nha Trang sea calls".
Third prize in the photo category went to author Hieu Minh Vu with the work "A bumper crop of red tangerines".
Third prize in the video category went to author Le Tan Thanh with the work "Growing flax, weaving - traditional cultural identity of the Mong people".
The Organizing Committee also awarded 20 Consolation prizes for two categories of photos and videos.
The most voted award for the photo category belongs to author Luong Sy Phu with the work "Joy when working at TH" .
The most voted award for the video category went to Pham Mina and Mui Khanh Ly with the work "Discovering the beautiful H'mong village" in Hua Tai, Moc Chau, Son La./.
