On the morning of October 8, a group of four VinFast VF 8s set off on a journey of thousands of miles to conquer Tibet (China). According to the schedule, the group traveled from Hanoi to Dien Bien, through Laos before reaching China.
The Tibet conquest team consists of 8 members, 1 tour guide and 4 VF 8 vehicles.
In the first leg, the whole group had a smooth start with the 500km route from Hanoi to Dien Bien. Although the road was small and had many curves, the good road surface, combined with the beautiful scenery, brought excitement to the members.
VF 8 convoy had a smooth start on the Hanoi - Dien Bien journey.
According to the members of the group, the VinFast VF 8 works well, with an ideal operating range of about 400km for a full charge. Charging the battery at rest stops along the way and in Dien Bien City is not difficult.
The first challenge was encountered right after leaving the Tay Trang border gate to enter Laos. The road conditions in the neighboring country were not good, the road was bumpy and dusty. The road from Udomxay to Boten border gate had many large potholes due to heavy trucks frequently passing through, and there were even flooded sections.
Thanks to the advantage of high chassis, VF 8 owners safely conquered the difficult journey in Laos.
At times, the group faced a large hole, not knowing its depth, so they did not know how to get through. However, with the advantage of a high-chassis electric SUV, plus the drivers having a lot of experience, knowing how to control and handle the situation properly, all 4 cars safely got through the hole.
"Today's difficulty is at a new level. I think no VinFast car has had the opportunity to test a road like this," said the team leader, Mr. Chu Huu Tho.
All four VF 8s in the group were successfully charged with the conversion adapter.
Regarding the issue of charging the car battery, Mr. Tho shared that the group had successfully tested the adapter to convert from CCS2 charging standard to GB/T at a private charging station. This is a charging port similar to the standard port in China, so the whole group was completely confident before continuing the journey to Tibet (China).
In this convoy, a VinFast VF 8 has not been updated with the latest software, many people are worried that it will affect the battery charging. However, in reality, this car can still charge the battery smoothly.
"This determines the success or failure of the trip," said Mr. Le Truong Giang, vice president of the VF 8 Association in the North. Previously, Mr. Giang successfully conquered the Indochina peninsula route through Laos and Cambodia with the VinFast VF 8.
At the end of the second day, the group completed the journey safely and had a night's rest near the Boten border gate before leaving for China. After that, the whole group officially entered China, continuing to roll on beautiful roads on the journey to the mysterious land of Tibet.
From October 8, members of the VF 8 Association in the North set out to explore and conquer Tibet, China with 4 VinFast VF 8 cars, to prove that electric cars can make any journey and affirm the quality of electric cars produced in Vietnam. The trip is expected to last 16,000km within 30 days.
