The attack, which took place on Sunday evening (local time), is considered one of the bloodiest since the war began last October.

The Israeli military (IDF) said a Hezbollah drone attacked a military base near the town of Binyamina, located about 64 kilometers from the Lebanese border. The attack killed four Israeli soldiers and seriously injured seven others.
According to the Magen David Adom emergency service, a total of 61 people were injured in the attack.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility, saying it launched multiple drone attacks on an Israeli infantry training camp in Binyamina, in retaliation for an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon on Thursday that killed 22 people and injured 117.
Hezbollah said it targeted the Golani Brigade, an elite Israeli infantry unit currently deployed in southern Lebanon.
At the time of the attack, there was no warning from Israel's defense systems, raising questions about how Hezbollah's UAV was able to penetrate deep into Israeli territory without being detected.
Senior IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said the military would investigate the incident and said the threat from UAVs has been a serious problem they have faced since the beginning of the war. He stressed the need to improve defenses.
The attack came nearly two weeks after Israel launched a ground offensive in southern Lebanon. More than 1,500 people have been killed and more than 8,000 wounded in Lebanon since Israel stepped up its campaign against Hezbollah in mid-September, according to Lebanese Health Ministry figures.
