Both belonging to Generation Z, Nhat Minh and Huong Tra consider it an advantage that helps them easily connect, understand their students' thoughts, and attract them to their lessons.
Ms. Le Thi Huong Tra (born in 1998) and Mr. Nguyen Nhat Minh (born in 1997) are working at the Banking Science Research Institute, Banking Academy. Recently, both teachers were awarded the title of "Outstanding Young Teacher" at the Hanoi city level for their contributions to teaching, scientific research and youth and student movements.

Ms. Huong Tra and Mr. Nhat Minh have worked at the Banking Academy since 2021. As a former student of the school, Tra feels "an inexplicable connection" with this school. "When I was young, my family lived in a dormitory next to the Academy. I always dreamed of studying at the school one day. After 4 years of university, the memories here made me want to become a school staff even more," Tra said. As for Nhat Minh, the desire to stand in the lecture hall was nurtured since his university years. "I am always impressed by the carefulness and meticulousness of teachers when imparting knowledge, skills, and thinking in studying and scientific research. That image helps nurture the dream and effort to become a teacher," Minh shared. With that goal in mind, before graduating, both of them carefully studied the recruitment criteria of the Banking Academy. In 2020, Tra and Minh studied a joint master's program of the Banking Academy and the University of the West of England (UK). Nhat Minh said that as soon as he read the recruitment notice of the Banking Academy, he was happy because he knew “that was my opportunity”. “I was accepted after surpassing many potential candidates. With the help and guidance of teachers and colleagues during the internship, we have grown more and more”, said the young teacher.Ms. Tra is a former student of Banking Academy (Photo: NVCC)
Currently, both are scientific researchers and concurrently teach courses at the Banking Science Research Institute. In the first teaching sessions, Ms. Huong Tra surprised many students because of her youthful appearance. According to Ms. Tra, "being of the same generation" is an advantage that helps her easily understand the students' thoughts as well as the difficulties they experience in studying and doing scientific research. Therefore, in the process of teaching and guiding students, she always puts herself in the position of the learner to present and explain in the easiest way to understand, creating a comfortable environment for them to fully express their abilities. Mr. Nhat Minh also recognizes the advantage of a "gen Z" teacher in teaching and connecting with students, thereby integrating the interests of young people into the content of the lecture. "Gen Z likes to update 'trends' and hot information on social networks. Therefore, I often incorporate into the curriculum content related to the domestic and international socio-economic, financial and banking situation. Every week, Mr. Minh asks students to prepare a presentation on an outstanding event related to the fields of economics, finance - banking, and society. According to him, this not only helps students continuously update their practice but also provides a rich source of ideas to carry out scientific research topics that are new and highly practical, aiming to solve urgent social problems. "I see that students are very enthusiastic about presenting their knowledge and thoughts on economic events of the country and the world. Proposed scientific research topics are also increasingly practical and novel." However, Mr. Minh also realizes the limitations of his teaching experience, so he always tries to study and exchange experiences with veteran colleagues to improve his skills.Mr. Minh was awarded the title of “Outstanding Young Teacher” at the Hanoi city level. In addition to teaching, research is also a parallel task of teachers. Currently, Ms. Tra is the main author of 3 scientific articles published in domestic and international journals related to the development of digital financial products and services; the relationship between financial inclusion and gender equality...; participating in a ministerial-level scientific research project and guiding 4 groups of students in scientific research that have won many awards. Meanwhile, Mr. Minh is the main author and co-author of many scientific articles published in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals in the fields of economics, finance and banking. In 2024, Mr. Minh guided 3 groups of students in scientific research that won awards at the Academy level. He is currently the Secretary of the Youth Union of the Banking Scientific Research Institute. The goal of the two teachers is to cultivate knowledge, skills, and experience, and at the same time have more quality scientific publications, inspiring and motivating students to pursue their studies and research.Vietnamnet.vn
