The Canada-ASEAN Business Council currently represents more than 70 leading companies that do business or invest between Canada and ASEAN countries.

The leaders of the Canada-ASEAN Business Council said that Canadian and Vietnamese businesses in general, and Hai Phong city in particular, have great potential for cooperation, especially in the fields of innovation, climate change response, and sustainable energy transition. Members of the Canada-ASEAN Business Council shared the potential for cooperation in the fields of education, human resource training, scientific research, information technology, cyber security, etc. Through cooperation, Canadian businesses hope to become a bridge to help Vietnamese businesses access the world market as well as introduce foreign investors to invest and do business in Vietnam, especially Hai Phong city.

During the meeting, the Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology and the Canada-ASEAN Business Council signed a letter of intent, marking the beginning of further discussions on economic cooperation, technology transfer, scientific research and innovation between Hai Phong and Canada. This agreement opens up opportunities for cooperation between businesses of both sides. In the coming time, the two sides will continue to discuss to build a memorandum of understanding with specific goals, expected to be implemented in 2025 and the following years.
