Hai Duong identifies the work of ensuring and fighting for human rights as a regular, continuous and long-term task.

On June 21, the Government's Standing Office on Human Rights coordinated with the Hai Duong Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee to organize a training conference on grassroots human rights work in 2024.

Speaking at the Conference, Colonel Le Duc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Hai Duong Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee, said that in the first 6 months of 2024, the work of ensuring and fighting for human rights in Hai Duong province has been directed and implemented by units and localities, effectively implementing social security activities and policies.

In the first 6 months of 2024, Hai Duong's economic growth is estimated to increase by 10%, ranking 7th in the country and 3rd in the Red River Delta.

The province provided job counseling, vocational training counseling and labor law counseling for 14,630 workers; introduced jobs to 3,441 people; provided legal aid in 260 cases; and effectively implemented social security work.

Security and order are ensured. Information, propaganda, and the fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints have many innovations and are effective.

However, human rights work has not received due attention at times and in some places. The implementation of policies and laws on ensuring and promoting human rights, especially those related to religion and workers' rights, still has problems.

Through the training conference, the reporters will provide a lot of information on human rights issues and the viewpoints and policies of our Party and State on ensuring freedom of belief and religion, thereby helping agencies, units, localities and grassroots cadres to be aware of their position, role and responsibility in the struggle, protection and promotion of human rights in the province in the new situation.

At the conference, Major General Nguyen Van Ky, Deputy Chief of the Government's Permanent Office for Human Rights, affirmed that ensuring human rights is a common task of the entire political system, closely linked to the grassroots level, so it requires the joint efforts and coordination of departments, branches, sectors and the grassroots political system.

In the coming time, the Standing Office of the Provincial Human Rights Steering Committee needs to be proactive in advising authorities at all levels to implement policies and laws on ensuring and promoting human rights; continue to promote internal and external communications, spread positive information about achievements in ensuring human rights, especially increasing propaganda on social networking platforms; proactively do a good job of grasping the situation, raising vigilance, and detecting activities of hostile forces taking advantage of democracy and human rights issues.

In his closing speech, Colonel Le Duc Thanh concluded that in the coming time, hostile forces will continue to exploit issues of democracy, human rights, ethnicity, religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and ensuring workers' rights... to sabotage Vietnam.

Therefore, the work of ensuring human rights and fighting to neutralize the sabotage activities of hostile and reactionary forces is a regular, continuous, long-term task and requires the participation of the entire political system, in which the member units of the Provincial Steering Committee on Human Rights, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities play a very important role, being the core force in the work of ensuring human rights, people's rights, fighting in the field of democracy, human rights...
