Gia Lai scored early, but HAGL still let Binh Duong hold them to a 1-1 draw in round four of the V-League on the afternoon of December 3.
After only one draw and two losses in the first three rounds, HAGL changed its name and added sponsor LPBank. Before round four today, they were still in a favorable position because they did not have to play in the National Cup and had the strongest squad when rookie Jhon Cley was eligible to compete, but Kiatisuk's team still could not improve.

At Pleiku Stadium, HAGL started well with the opening goal in the second minute, when Le Van Son scored a goal against Binh Duong from Minh Vuong's corner kick. However, Binh Duong, with quality domestic players such as Que Ngoc Hai, Nguyen Hai Quy, Tien Linh, and Viet Vuong, showed that they were not an easy opponent to bully. After conceding an early goal, the away team confidently pushed up their formation, putting pressure on the home team.
Hai Huy, Tien Linh and Que Ngoc Hai tested HAGL goalkeeper Duong Van Loi with difficult shots, but were unsuccessful. However, Binh Duong had to wait until the 27th minute to realize their advantage in the game. Starting from a corner kick, HAGL's defense failed to clear the ball decisively, creating conditions for Janclesio to shoot hard to equalize 1-1 for the away team.
Just two minutes later, the visitors had another chance when Minh Trong passed the ball from the left wing, giving Viet Cuong an open opportunity in front of the goal. But this domestic player shot over the bar. In the last minute of the first half, Bui Vi Hao also tried his luck when entering the penalty area but also shot too high over the goal.
HAGL did not play well after scoring the early goal. Fear of disjointed lines made Kiatisuk's players unable to control the game. They also did not create many opportunities to threaten Binh Duong's goal. It was not until the beginning of the second half that the home team created the next dangerous opportunity, but Quoc Viet's long shot from outside the box went wide of the post.

Binh Duong responded in the 51st minute when Viet Cuong dribbled past four HAGL players and passed to Tien Linh, who ran down to face the goalkeeper. But from a distance of 12 meters, the striker from Thu Dau Mot missed his shot when it was right at Van Loi's reach.
Ten minutes later, rookie Jhon Cley found his luck when he shot from outside the box, the ball curled into the near corner but goalkeeper Minh Toan was able to fly to save the visitors. The two teams then played cautiously and did not create much trouble for each other. In the fourth minute of injury time, striker Elogo got past Binh Duong defenders and shot hard into the near corner, but goalkeeper Van Loi closed the angle in time to help the home team keep a point.
Unable to win in V-League, the team from the Mountain City is still stuck at the bottom of the table with two points. They have the same points as Quang Nam and Ha Tinh but have a lower goal difference.
Meanwhile, Binh Duong moved up to fifth place, with seven points after four rounds. However, coach Le Huynh Duc still regretted that his team could not leave with three points. "Today we were unlucky so we could not win. We had many opportunities and if we had finished well, we would have won because we were the team that deserved to win more than our opponents," Mr. Duc said after the match.
In round 5, Binh Duong will visit Khanh Hoa on December 10, while HAGL will continue to play at home against Viettel on December 8.
