Gia Lai Pleiku Stadium was almost full but the audience gradually left from the 66th minute when HAGL lost 0-3 to Hanoi Police in round 2 of V-League 2023-2024 on the afternoon of October 28.

*Goals scored: Tan Tai 6', Viet Anh 53', Success 66'.

Pleiku Stadium is open to the public to watch the second round of the 2023-2024 V-League. At the same time, HAGL held a memorial service for assistant Duong Minh Ninh, striker Paollo Oliveira and doctor Dao Trong Tri who unfortunately passed away in a traffic accident on August 12.

However, on the special day, the home team's performance did not meet fans' expectations.

In the 6th minute, HAGL conceded a goal. Geovane Magno passed the ball from the left wing to the right wing for Van Thanh. After a few moves, this defender flicked his heel in time for Ho Tan Tai to run up before finishing with a low cross-angle shot to open the score. CAHN's attack increased but Fialho Janio, Geovane Magno, Vu Van Thanh and Bui Hoang Viet Anh continuously missed opportunities in the first half.

In the 23rd minute, HAGL had their first chance when Chau Ngoc Quang crossed from the right wing but Dinh Thanh Binh missed the ball. In the second half, the chance continued to pass when Pape Diakite headed inaccurately from close range.

After a few minutes of lack of concentration, CAHN gradually stabilized. In the 49th minute, while participating in a corner kick attack, Bui Hoang Viet Anh took a dangerous shot but hit the crossbar. However, he did not have to regret for long when in a similar situation four minutes later, Viet Anh added his name to the scoreboard.

When the attacking game was difficult, HAGL's defense continued to make mistakes in the 66th minute. Jairo Filho controlled the ball recklessly on the home field and then lost the ball when CAHN players pressed. Raphael Success seized the opportunity to dribble into the penalty area before finishing to make the score 3-0.

The victory helped CAHN rise to second place with four points, while HAGL ranked 10th with one point.
