In 2023, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, with the determination in direction and management of all levels and sectors, the activities of the industry and trade sector achieved many outstanding results. The added value of the industry in GRDP in 2023 is estimated to increase by 10% over the same period in 2022. The production index of the entire industry is estimated to increase by 7.41% compared to 2022. Key industrial products grew quite well compared to 2022 such as: steel is estimated at 4.8 million tons, up 8.5%; electricity production is estimated at 8.4 billion kWh, up 12%; commercial electricity is estimated at 1.6 billion kWh, up 13%; beer is estimated at nearly 70 million liters, up 3%...

Trade and service activities recovered and grew well. Total retail sales of goods are estimated at VND 59,776 billion, up more than 13% compared to 2022. Export turnover is estimated at 2.4 billion USD, exceeding the plan by 20% and increasing by 33% compared to 2022. Import turnover is estimated at 3.63 billion USD, up 6% over the same period.

During the year, the Department of Industry and Trade completed 6 framework tasks according to Program No. 21/CTr-UBND dated January 19, 2023 of the Provincial People's Committee, 106 main tasks of the sector and extraordinary tasks. State management of industry and trade was strengthened, especially advising on mechanisms and policies for industrial and handicraft development, advising the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the implementation of the VIII Power Plan and the Provincial Plan; carrying out market stabilization work; implementing many trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand, supporting businesses and production and business establishments to introduce products, connecting with domestic and foreign distributors...
