Hanoi strengthens post-inspection of drug and cosmetic quality

Through post-inspection, the management agency assessed that the units had proactively complied with regulations on cosmetics production and trading, but there were still some establishments that did not maintain production conditions as initially assessed; violated in advertising; products were manufactured according to formulas that were not in accordance with the product declaration dossier.

The Hanoi Center for Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing said that many violations of regulations on drug and cosmetic quality management were discovered during the inspection process. In particular, regarding facilities and equipment, some warehouses do not have signs dividing areas; storage conditions are not guaranteed, such as damp walls and ceilings, rainwater seepage; there is no self-recording thermometer in the refrigerator... There are still units that have not shown sensory quality control in the drug import records. Some units only have 2-3 staff in the pharmacy department, not enough human resources to ensure pharmaceutical work at the facility. At some medical centers, vaccine management is assigned to staff in the HIV/AIDS Disease Control Department, some units do not have staff training records, not ensuring professional requirements.

In the first 9 months of this year, the Center collected 1,490 samples from 737 production, mixing, import-export, wholesale, retail, and distribution establishments for quality testing, of which 16 samples failed to meet quality standards. Monitoring and sampling for quality testing will continue to be strengthened in the final months of the year.
