Hanoi to join UNESCO's 'Global Learning Cities' network in 2025

TPO - Hanoi City has just issued a Plan to build Hanoi Capital into a member of UNESCO's "Global Learning Cities" Network in 2025.

Hanoi aims to complete its registration to join UNESCO's "Global Learning Cities" network by 2025.

According to the plan, the People's Committee requested to continue promoting and innovating propaganda and dissemination work with many diverse and practical forms so that the people of the capital are more aware of the role of lifelong learning and the necessity of building a learning society in the city.

Develop creative and diverse communication campaigns, including the use of online platforms and social networks to reach out and interact with the community to create a strong spread of the importance of Hanoi's participation in the UNESCO "Global Learning Cities" Network.

Promote distance learning and online learning to serve lifelong learning, completing the criteria in the UNESCO Criteria for building a "Global Learning City".

Specifically, promote distance learning activities to standardize the number of preschool, primary and secondary school teachers who do not meet the training standards according to the revised Law on Education.

Strengthen cooperation with other cities in the UNESCO Global Learning Cities Network to learn and apply advanced distance learning models, improve training efficiency and lifelong learning.

Strengthening the construction of facilities and information technology infrastructure to serve distance learning and online training; enhancing the application of information and communication technology in providing lifelong learning programs for everyone.

There are support policies for learners who are policy beneficiaries, women, the disadvantaged, ethnic minorities... according to the locality, especially those with many socio-economic difficulties. Organize the compilation of learning materials and databases, especially the learning materials system in the fields of agriculture, health, culture, law, climate change, biodiversity conservation, natural disaster prevention... to meet the diverse learning needs of all classes of people.

Strengthen propaganda work and effectively organize and implement the plan to build Happy Schools in kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, non-public educational institutions; vocational education and continuing education centers; colleges and intermediate schools.

The City assigns the Department of Education and Training to take primary responsibility for directing educational institutions, vocational education and continuing education centers in the City to organize teaching and learning in a disciplined and quality manner; carry out lifelong learning tasks, build a learning society; encourage junior high school graduates to enter vocational training, contributing to the streamlining of students after graduation; Organize training for management staff and teachers on professional skills to ensure good completion of tasks; create all conditions and opportunities for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the industry to study and improve their professional qualifications and work skills...
