Speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Ha Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Dong Da District People's Committee said that during the construction of technical infrastructure in lane 167 Tay Son, workers discovered many skeletons at a depth of about 1 meter.

After discovering the incident, Quang Trung ward and Dong Da district requested relevant units to temporarily stop construction of technical infrastructure in lane 167, and at the same time gather the remains in a new urn to await a solution.

As of November 21, units have identified nearly 150 sets of remains in Lane 167 Tay Son. “Quang Trung Ward authorities have worked with relevant departments and units to relocate the remains to a suitable cemetery,” said a leader of Dong Da District People’s Committee.

According to local residents, this is not the first time the locality has discovered many skeletons. Previously, skeletons were also discovered during infrastructure construction or house foundation digging.

The drainage project in lane 167 Tay Son is still suspended today. The construction site is carefully fenced off by authorities to ensure the safety of people traveling in the lane. The remains are gathered and covered with tarps on the side of the road in preparation for being moved to another location.
