According to Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha, after more than 30 years of development, the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Korea has developed remarkably, effectively and substantially in many fields.

2022 marks a new page in the cooperative relationship with the two sides issuing a Joint Statement on upgrading Vietnam-Korea relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Korea is currently Vietnam's leading important partner in many fields, ranking first in direct investment in Vietnam.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council said that on the basis of the good relationship between the two countries, Hanoi always pays attention to and gives high priority to developing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with localities and partners of Korea.

Referring to the recent visits of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (July 2024) and Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh (October 2024), Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha affirmed that Korea has always been one of the traditional and important partners, with many outstanding cooperation results in fields such as economy, trade, tourism, culture, education, environment, and people-to-people exchange.

Introducing Hanoi and the Hanoi People's Council to the Korean National Assembly diplomatic delegation, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha said that Hanoi is currently focusing on building and perfecting institutions and development policies to create and allocate development space for the capital in the coming time. In particular, the National Assembly recently passed the Law on the Capital (amended) and in the near future, the city will continue to report on accelerating the approval of the Capital Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; Adjusting the Capital's master plan to 2045 with a vision to 2065. All three contents are important legal bases, which will create outstanding mechanisms and policies for Hanoi to promote its advantages, develop rapidly and sustainably with a new stature and position.

The Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council said that at the beginning of the term, the City People's Council had 8 young delegates under 40 years old, accounting for 8.42% and all had post-graduate degrees. The young People's Council delegates have truly promoted their pioneering, dynamic and creative roles, making important contributions to improving the quality and effectiveness of the City People's Council's operations. Standing Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha also hoped that young delegates from both sides will have many opportunities to meet, share experiences and learn from each other in the coming time.

Emphasizing that Hanoi City identifies foreign affairs as one of the important tasks and the driving force for the development of the capital city, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council affirmed that, in the spirit of friendship and hospitality, the City People's Council always attaches importance to the comprehensive and substantive cooperative relationship between Hanoi and localities and partners of Korea.

Expressing his impression and appreciation of the dynamism of Hanoi City felt through this visit, Korean National Assembly Member Jang Kyungtae agreed with the sharing of Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha. Informing that the Korean National Assembly members participating in this working group are all young, Mr. Jang Kyungtae emphasized that these will be the faces that will make important contributions to the efforts to lead Korea in the future.

Affirming that Korea increasingly values ​​economic cooperation with Vietnam, Korean National Assembly Member Jang Kyungtae said that Korea will always strive to promote cooperative relations with Vietnam, and believes that bilateral cooperation will continue to develop strongly in the future.
