(Dan Tri) - On the last day of the year of Giap Thin 2024, Hanoi FC suddenly said goodbye to coach Le Duc Tuan and appointed veteran coach Hoang Van Phuc.
After 11 rounds of V-League, the team that won the national championship 6 times only won 3 matches, drew 6 matches and lost 2 matches, ranking 4th with 17 points.
In the most recent match, coach Le Duc Tuan's team disappointed when they lost 0-1 to HA Gia Lai right at home at Hang Day Stadium, thereby losing the opportunity to reach the top 3 on the V-League 2024-25 rankings.
This defeat could be the "last straw" that made the club's leadership decide to part ways with coach Le Duc Tuan today (January 28). The capital team announced that coach Le Duc Tuan and his colleagues will hand over the work at the first team to carry out new tasks at the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center, and at the same time choose veteran coach Hoang Van Phuc to take on the above position from the team's meeting on January 31 (the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year).
Coach Hoang Van Phuc has been the technical director of Hanoi FC for many years, contributing to the achievements of winning the National U19 Championship (2022), National U21 Championship (2022, 2024) and the first National U17 Championship in 2024 after 15 years of establishing the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center.
On February 5, Hanoi FC will visit Nam Dinh and this will also be the debut match of coach Hoang Van Phuc in his new position.
