Key Development Elements
According to statistics from the Hanoi Rural Development Department, the city currently has 1,297 agricultural cooperatives in operation. The cooperatives basically meet the production needs of their members. Many cooperatives have created competitiveness with other economic sectors.
Cooperatives have been doing a good job in directing agricultural production. In addition to focusing on upgrading infrastructure to serve production, some cooperatives have entered into joint ventures and partnerships from production to product consumption with businesses, contributing to increasing economic value.
Director of Dong Cao Agricultural Service Cooperative (Me Linh district) Dam Van Dua said: currently the unit is organizing nearly 10 service stages to serve members. Including crop protection, pest and disease forecasting, agricultural extension work, linking product consumption for members...
To serve members and farmers, Dong Cao Agricultural Service Cooperative as well as other cooperatives in Hanoi have established service prices that cover management costs and other expenses. As a result, service prices are lower than the market price, bringing the most benefits and support to members.
According to the assessment of the Hanoi Rural Development Department, the activities of cooperatives in recent times have also created conditions to connect people with their fields, limit the abandonment of fields, ensure the planting area and supply of agricultural products and food for consumers in the capital.
