Hanoi promotes and spreads the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

Attending the Conference were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong - Head of Steering Committee 35 of Hanoi City, Head of the Competition Steering Committee; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee Nguyen Doan Toan; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ha Minh Hai.

There were 120,230 entries submitted to the contest.

The report at the conference showed that, following the results achieved from previous competitions, after more than 3 months of launching the competition (from March to May 2024), the whole city has launched a total of 120,230 entries from agencies, units and localities. The number is double the number of entries in the 2023 competition.

Specifically, the number of works in 5 categories: magazine, newspaper, television, radio and video clip. Of which, there are 77,258 works in magazine category; more than 40,000 works in newspaper category, 468 works in radio category, 315 works in television category, 1,000 works in video clip category of more than 60 agencies, units and localities in Hanoi submitted to participate.

Many Party Committees launched and organized Creative and Effective Competitions, attracting a large number of cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees and workers to submit entries. At the same time, they collected, appraised and evaluated the entries according to the Contest rules. Among the more than 60 participating units, 28/60 agencies, localities and units had more than 1,000 entries. Many agencies, units and localities had a total number of entries many times higher than the results of the 2023 contest.

In addition, many units and localities do not only stop at the large number of exam entries, but the quality of the exam entries is invested in and improved, emphasizing practicality, linked to the unit, locality, and agency. In particular, the forms of participation in the exam are diverse, rich, and complete in all categories and there are many awards in different categories, typically such as units: Le Hong Phong Cadre Training School, Party Committee of Universities and Colleges, Hanoi Youth Union, Thanh Tri and Soc Son districts, etc.

This year's contest has more entries from elderly contestants than in 2023. The oldest contestant this year is Le Van Thich - 104 years old from Ba Vi. In particular, contestant Nguyen Dinh Hau (born in 1928) is 96 years old, 76 years of Party membership - belonging to Thanh Xuan District Party Committee, an elderly author who has participated in the contest for 3 consecutive years from 2022, 2023 and 2024. This year's contest continues to receive the attention of authors who are ethnic minorities; authors who are foreigners living in Hanoi.

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong awarded Certificates of Merit from the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee to 10 collectives with outstanding achievements in organizing and implementing the fourth Political Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2024.

The entries adhere to the theme of the Contest, clearly affirming the role and contemporary significance of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought. At the same time, they identify and fight against the arguments of hostile, reactionary, and opportunistic political forces that take advantage of issues of democracy, human rights, religion, ethnicity, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, etc. to sabotage our Party and State.

The judging process from the preliminary and final rounds was organized systematically, scientifically, professionally, and invested in meticulously. Thanks to that, this year's Contest, the Organizing Committee selected 88 works (double the number of works in 2023, which was 44 works) to submit to the Central level and selected 97 excellent works in various categories to award prizes at the City level.

Promote the exemplary spirit and self -awareness of cadres and party members

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong congratulated and commended the authors and units for proactively and actively participating in the Contest with the highest sense of responsibility. Many of the entries were of good quality, rich and diverse in many fields. Some of the entries were published in newspapers and magazines and broadcast promptly after being submitted to the Contest. Thereby, contributing to the effective dissemination of the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

Reviewing the outstanding results of this year's Contest, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee emphasized that in 3 years (from 2021 - 2023), the Political Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation has truly become an important task in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views. Implementing the Plan to organize the Contest in 2024, the Hanoi Party Committee and the Steering Committee of 35 cities have promptly developed a plan, organized and launched the Contest throughout the Party in a methodical and scientific manner and achieved many positive results.

The success of the Contest has truly become an important highlight of the Hanoi Party Committee and its affiliated Party Committees in concretizing Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation". Thereby affirming the awareness, sense of responsibility and exemplary role of the contingent of cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees and workers in the entire Party Committee in the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation.

In order for the Contest to become a widespread political activity for cadres, party members, and people of the capital and a vivid demonstration affirming the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW into life in the capital, the Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested that first of all, grassroots Party organizations across the city continue to study and thoroughly raise awareness of Party committees and organizations at all levels about the responsibility of leadership, direction, exemplary spirit, and self-awareness of cadres and party members.

Especially the leader in deploying and implementing Resolution 35-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 89-KL/TW of the 13th Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution 35-NQ/TW. In which, this important task is associated with the implementation of resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Central Committee on Party building and rectification, promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle and associated with the implementation of political tasks of agencies and units.

Party committees, party organizations, cadres, party members, union members, association members and the masses need to further improve their awareness and responsibility for the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints through promoting propaganda, posting contest entries and quality articles on the internet and social networks. From there, creating a widespread influence on cadres, party members and all classes of people in the capital.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ha Minh Hai and Deputy Chief of Office of the Central Steering Committee 35 Le Duc Canh presented flowers and certificates to 14 authors and groups of authors who won Second Prize of the Contest.

In addition, organize exchanges, share, and learn from experience in organizing competitions between units in the city and other central units, provincial and municipal Party committees. At the same time, continue to discover, train, and foster positive and promising factors discovered through the competition to form a team of experts and collaborators who directly participate in disseminating positive information and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

The Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee requested relevant units to coordinate to synthesize quality articles into a source of documents serving the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation. The city's press agencies re-edited the winning entries to promptly publish them in the press.

Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong affirmed that organizing the Contest is a necessary and meaningful task in the current period for the staff, party members and people of the Capital. It actively contributes to the overall success of the Contest launched by the Central Propaganda Department and the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics. From there, it creates a high level of unity in awareness and action in effectively implementing Resolution 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo from the Central to the grassroots level. This is also one of the biggest goals set by the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee in launching and implementing the 2024 Contest in Hanoi.
