Hanoi: 12 enrollment areas in public 10th grade registration

The whole city of Hanoi is divided into 12 recruitment areas.

The 12 enrollment areas are divided according to districts, towns and cities. The division of areas aims to ensure the most favorable conditions in terms of administrative boundaries, helping students not to have to travel too far to go to school.

12 recruitment areas in Hanoi are specifically as follows:

Admission area 1 includes districts: Ba Dinh, Tay Ho.

Admission area 2 includes districts: Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung.

Recruitment area 3 includes districts: Dong Da, Thanh Xuan, Cau Giay.

Recruitment area 4 includes districts: Hoang Mai, Thanh Tri.

Recruitment area 5 includes Long Bien district and Gia Lam district.

Admission area 6 includes districts: Dong Anh, Soc Son, Me Linh.

Enrollment area 7 includes districts: Bac Tu Liem, Nam Tu Liem and districts: Hoai Duc, Dan Phuong.

Enrollment area 8 includes districts: Phuc Tho, Ba Vi and Son Tay town.

Enrollment area 9 includes districts: Thach That, Quoc Oai.

Enrollment area 10 includes Ha Dong district and the following districts: Chuong My, Thanh Oai.

Admission area 11 includes districts: Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen.

Admission area 12 includes districts: Ung Hoa, My Duc.

Based on specific conditions of geographical location and academic ability, students choose schools to register for appropriate admission wishes.

According to regulations of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, each student can register to apply to a maximum of 3 public high schools, ranked in order of preference 1, preference 2 and preference 3.

In which, wish 1 and wish 2 must be in the same enrollment area according to regulations; wish 3 can be in any enrollment area.

The entrance exam for grade 10 of public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year in Hanoi will take place on June 7, 8, and 9; on June 7 and 8, students will take 3 exams (math, literature, foreign language), and on June 9, students who wish to register for specialized exams will take the specialized subject exam.
