Ha Long proposes to build a 30m high Dragon statue in the city center

(Dan Tri) - Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) is proposing a plan to renovate and place a symbolic building in the city center. Among them is the plan "HaLongBay - Dragon Land", with 5 intertwined dragons.
Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) is an international tourist center. In particular, Ha Long is blessed with Ha Long Bay, which has been recognized twice by UNESCO as a world natural heritage and one of the 7 new natural wonders of the world. Ha Long has abundant mineral resources, is located in the economic dynamic region of the North, and has convenient transportation advantages for economic and cultural exchanges with provinces across the country. With the expectation of creating a special project, both a connection point and a check-in point, Ha Long City is implementing 4 options for building a symbol to submit to Quang Ninh province for consideration and comments.
The location chosen to place the symbolic project is at an extremely favorable location on the shore of Ha Long Bay, at the intersection of Tran Quoc Nghia Street and Tran Hung Dao Street. The construction materials that will be used to make the symbol are selected as modern materials such as: fiberglass concrete, artistic wrought iron. In addition, the project can use a steel frame solution combined with aluminum bars on the outside to create the shape... Option 1: Boats and the sea: The idea is stylized by the image of a boat with sails exploring the majestic landscape of Ha Long Bay. The layout of this option is gentle and elegant (contrasting with the small islands in the bay). The idea of the project is reminiscent of the image of boats overcoming the waves going out to sea in the tourism sector and other fields in Ha Long Bay. The plan has 2 layout parts: The sail part is stylized with soft curves, in harmony with the majestic natural scenery of Ha Long Bay. The sail brings a modern image, in harmony with the current status (without affecting the world natural heritage). The sail is completed with fiberglass concrete and steel frame structure, with modern materials suitable for the climate conditions of the sea. The sea wave section is combined with curved stainless steel bars simulating the waves of Ha Long. The stainless steel bars are covered with a lighting cable system. The project ensures aesthetics during the day and is a highlight of Tran Hung Dao Street at night. In addition, the color-changing light strip running along the route is the highlight of the route. The project is expected to be 24m high. Option 2: Dawn on the bay: The idea is stylized by the circle of the sky (according to the Vietnamese concept, the sky is round, the earth is square) which represents completeness. The project also carries the idea of Ha Long converging all the elements to develop a modern city, a green city, the economic and tourism capital of Quang Ninh province in particular and Vietnam in general. The project also carries the idea of wishing for a new day full of vitality, blending with the poetic scenery of majestic Ha Long. The concept of "Dawn on the Bay" has a 2-part layout: A concrete block with a fiberglass steel frame creates a stylized circular shape for the sun. The second layout is the sea wave section combined with curved stainless steel bars simulating the waves of Ha Long. The stainless steel bars are covered by a lighting cable system, ensuring aesthetics during the day and highlighting Tran Hung Dao Street at night. The project is 19.6m high. Option 3: Going out to sea: Combining unique images from options 1 and 2. The project has the image of a boat riding the waves going out to sea under the dawn on Ha Long Bay. The project is over 24m high. The plan has 3 layout parts: Concrete block with fiberglass steel frame creates a stylized circle for the sun. The sail part is stylized with soft curves, in harmony with the majestic natural scenery of Ha Long Bay. The sea wave part is combined with stainless steel bars to create a curved shape simulating the waves of Ha Long sea. The stainless steel bar part is covered by a lighting cable system. The project ensures aesthetics during the day and is a highlight of Tran Hung Dao street at night. Option 4: HalongBay - Land of Dragons: Ha Long Bay is a place associated with many legends about Dragons, where Dragons descended to reside on Vietnamese land. The symbolic image is stylized by 5 dragons symbolizing 5 continents together, growing and developing around the globe. Modern architectural form, soft shape by steel frame system combined with LED lighting system and water fountains. The project is expected to be 30m high and 42m wide. With the above proposed options, Ha Long City said that the project will not affect the existing landscape axes; will not affect the marine environment. The project uses flexible, graceful shapes to create a unique architectural novelty, in harmony with the surrounding curved coastal landscape.
