At the end of June, when there were heavy rains, rocks and soil during the construction of the section through Dong Phuc commune (Ba Be), part of the Bac Kan City - Ba Be Lake road construction project, affected the domestic water source of Na Thau village, Dong Phuc commune.
Understanding the situation, the Provincial Traffic Construction Project Management Board directly worked with the contractor, local authorities and people to immediately implement remedial measures. Clearing the soil and rocks in the water source area, and investing in a new pipeline system leading to the tank. Up to now, basically, Na Thau households have had water for daily use again.
Mr. Hoang Quynh, Vice Chairman of Dong Phuc Commune People's Committee said: "After the above situation occurred, the commune worked with the investor, the remedial work was handled immediately, only a few households far from the village center, the construction unit is continuing to fix, connecting with the water pipes of other households to bring water for use. Along with that, establish an inspection and supervision team to regularly grasp the situation arising during the construction of the section through the locality, inform and coordinate with the investor and construction contractor to resolve the problem. The commune government always creates the best conditions for the construction units to speed up the progress, put the project into use soon, because the sooner the project is completed, the local people will benefit that day."

Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Traffic Construction Project Management Board of Bac Kan province affirmed: “As a key traffic project of great significance, it has received special attention and direction from the province. During the implementation process, the Project Management Board regularly updates the construction progress as well as any arising issues and reports to the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Planning and Investment on a weekly basis. Any arising issues have been and are being directed to be resolved, minimizing the impact on the environment as well as people's lives.
The unit hopes that each villager as well as the local government where the project passes through will share more with the investor and contractor, especially in the issue of creating favorable conditions for construction sites. In addition to performing well the supervision work, reflecting arising problems, the local government and the people should work with the investor and contractor to find the most optimal solution to support and resolve the problem, for the common goal of soon completing the project and putting it into use. This is the first large-scale traffic project of the province, so the issues in the direction and operation of the project today will be the experience for the implementation of other key traffic projects of the province in the near future.
The Bac Kan City - Ba Be Lake route project is in the final stage of accelerating progress. Difficulties and obstacles will be inevitable. With the investor's proactive and flexible management and operation, timely grasp of arising problems at the grassroots level, the participation of local authorities at all levels, and the support of the people, the project will soon reach the finish line as planned, which is a premise for continuing to start implementing phase 2 of the route project from Ba Be Lake connecting to Na Hang, Tuyen Quang in 2024./.
